  1. Lame hypocrisy from the poster demanding serious football discussion. £1m Puncheon contributed the same as £13m Ramirez. Spin doesnt change that.
  2. Is natural human reaction. People had low expectations of Puncheon which he exceeded. People were hyped up to expect amazing things of Ramirez which he has fallen short on, perhaps unsurprsingly.
  3. I think people are entitled to expect more from Ramirez because of the price tag - after all you could have got another Lovren and a quality back up to Boruc for the money - although some of the criticism of him is over the top. Perception rather than reality also contributes, Puncheon was also usually committed (read energetic), Ramirez's languid style ala MLT can make him look disinterested and lazy.
  4. Thats because he took free kicks. Puncheon didnt.
  5. Agree with nearly all of that. I think we've signed three very good good players who have added to the depth and quality, although we've paid over the odds for Wanyama and a wide player was more needed (yeah yeah we dont play with wingers, no-one said wingers before the ****s start). My problem is not with the signings - its the tactics, team selections and man management.
  6. do you not expect more from a £13m player than a £1m one then?
  7. Hes not that great but he was our second highest goal scorer last season. A midfield of Lallana, Schneiderlin, Ramirez, Wanyama and JWP have goal scoring averages of 1 goal every two games between them. Add that to playing a lone striker and it isnt hard to do the maths.
  8. He seems quick because he heads straight to the goal without the scenic route and stop off for a nap approach we've gotten used to.
  9. Kids trust their teacher.
  10. If we hadn't spent £12m on a player for a position where we were well covered the issue wouldn't have arisen.
  11. The DM have him going to Spurs
  12. Ince has the potential to be really top class. Lennon is good but seems to have peaked and is on his way down. Yes I know he's only 26 but its similar to what happened to Owen and many others.
  13. Sure, Puncheon isnt the long term answer - but he was a good option to have on the bench at a time when the goals aren't coming.
  14. Agree - and its management / tactics, we have the players. Loaning out our second highest scorer last season was a bad decision.
  15. Its amazing what spending £36m since January buys you - in our case 4 goals in nine games.
  16. ...
  17. You mean our second highest goalscorer last season? The player we've just given away at a time when we cant score.
  18. Hes right. Theres no way a Moyles type player would be fast and run at defences.
  19. Not really. I'd say we were only appalling / embarrassing in the Arsenal and West Ham games. Man City, Man U, Spurs and Aston Villa were all cracking games.
  20. First 10 games we were creating chances and scoring freely but defending appalling and had KD in goal. Fixing a lack of creativity and inability to score is much harder to solve than a leaky defence imo
  21. Based on the last 10 games, he's screwed.
  22. By that reasoning Osvaldo has had far more incidents which have been hushed up and haven't made the news.
  23. Ruthlessness isnt the problem, its judgement.
  24. Really? Punched Nicola Mingazzini at Bologna and Erik Lamela at Rome, before being forced out of the club. Eight clubs in eight years. Very talented player clearly, a team player who adds to how the 10 other players perform? maybe not.
