But its not actually predicting all three will go down. If you multiply the probabilities together to get the likelihood of all three being relegated it comes out at only 11.99%. Its simply saying those are the teams individually who are more likely than any other team to be occupying that position. It sound like semantics, but statistically its a big difference.

He isnt likely to sign is the current mood of Leandro Damiao as we lack ambition.

Completes the fairy story so richly deserved. Unfortunate choice of name. I always think people named Bella are going to be fatties. Probably Bella Emberg's doing.

Its the view of many climate scientists, mostly off the record, that if it wasn't for man made carbon emissions then we would be heading now into a new mini ice age. Its going to be a tricky balance to get it Goldilocks not too hot and not too cold. -
Only a 9.9% chance, less than one in 10, of relegation. Wonder what the bookies odds are.

Thats what happens when you have a generation of career politicians led by focus groups and opinion polls instead of conviction and persuasion. -
No, I hate static shocks

Look you think the guy is a bit of a ****, as do I. The fact is that you've consistently put up a tongue in cheek 'love that little guy' schtick in order to not get banned whilst taking the **** is the only reason no -one is going to find any critical posts - but its tedious. Why not just ignore his presence and the fawning posts praising him and talk about the football and manager and players - which you're much better at.

There are definitely fashions in research - you get the hot topic du jour attracting lots of study for a while before the spotlight moves onto to something else. Certain researchers may even put a certain interpretation on the findings which accords with their own feelings - but thats the reason for peer reviews. The peer reviews will only allow for publication narrative which is supported by the findings, and climate science is about hard numbers. imo the real problem is the media who need a story - and the scary, shocking, over the top or angry angle at the expense of accuracy always gets more attention than sober honest reporting. Its the reason the Sun sells 3million copies and the Times sells 300,000. -

Of course there are always rent a mouths available for a price to say what you need to be said - they're within the 3%. I'm not sure what you mean by independently funded researchers. The vast majority are academics funded by research bodies like NERC or employed by bodies such as the Met Office, NASA, UNEP etc. Research bodies don't have an agenda other than to fact find. Thats why the overwhelming consensus is so powerful. It would be a lot easier for everyone if climate change were not man made. The oil, gas and coal companies and electric utilities who by far have the most powerful lobbyists compared with the much smaller renewables companies could continue as before. Governments wouldn't have to change anything, and change is always unpopular. I guess your subtext is that people are saying what their masters want them to say - but if that were true its would be coal fired power stations and business as usual. -
Im with BT also about 100m from the green box and get about 75mb down 10mb up at quiet times and about 60 and 9 at busy times.

Pap, I say this in a friendly way - you really aren't showing anybody up over this stuff, you aren't winning converts. Gleefully pointing out when people are marginally out on details, but right on the substance doesn't make you the winner. You are just making yourself look more foolish.

They say this (below) about wheels they dont have in stock so might still be worth it. what swayed it for me was that they powder coat and bake their wheels whereas (according to them) most refurbers simply spray them silver so only last 12 months or so. Fine for doing up to sell but not for keeping. FAQ. I can't see my wheels. Can you refurbish mine? How much does it cost? We can refurbish yours for the same price as similar wheels we have on exchange, we can arrange collection and re-delivery, we will also supply shipping boxes if you need them.
-
how did they get that lost?
-
Ive used these people who were good. Basically you pay them a deposit and the cost of the refurb wheels. They send you refurbed wheeels, you send your old wheels off to them. They arrange all the couriers and costs. http://www.pxwheels.com/pages/faq.php

I use kayak.co.uk which is similar to skyscanner. The cheapest is probably going to be indirect with a stop in the middle east. Turkish and Qatar are both good and usually cheap. Flights to Delhi with them in May for c£518 atm.

Turns out it was all a big misunderstanding and the brothers and Pap were on the same side after all. Tamerlan Tsarnaev had right-wing extremist and conspiricist literature http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-23541341

I assume, since they got relegated, you forgot the smiley

He can do a Sheringham, but like Sheringham we cant expect him to do the job alone. Sheringham was effective playing in partnership with Jurgen Klinsmann and Andy Cole. He wasn't a sole striker in 4-5-1.

Thats an odd scattergun post that doesn't answer any of the substantive points Whitey. Yes big natural disasters can wipe out whole species. No-one disagrees. Disasters can also be man made. Yes higher CO2 levels promote plant growth. The problem, as I covered in my earlier post, is that human development is cutting down the forests and draining the bogs which are massive carbon sinks holding hundreds of years of emissions and replacing them with crops growing during the summer and taking up CO2 but the chaff and human poo rotting in the autumn and releasing the carbon again in the same year. Embedded carbon in manufacture has become a whole new science and is well covered. Reading some of corporate disclosures here is informative. http://www.cdproject.net The irony is that previous environmental problems have been fixed by international action. The banning of production of CFCs and halon is gradually fixing the ozone layer hole. Acid rain was fixed by putting nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide scrubbers on coal fired power plants - unless of course you are claiming that these two issues were naturally occurring fluctuations that were far too big for man to have any influence on. Our lives didn't change, despite some of the tabloid stories at the time. We still had aerosols and air conditioning in the car. I suspect that many people who were against action on these two issues are also anti action on climate change and attribute the fact that ozone layer hole and acid rain have 'gone away' to malign scientists jumping on the new climate change bandwagon - instead of the fact that despite the 'anti' lobbying, we came up with a technical fix and it didn't hurt at all. -

C'mon Whitey. I thought you had a science background? All they've done is put up graphs showing a reduction in the rate of growth in CO2 levels in the past 10 years - um that'll be the global recession / slowdown methinks . If inflation falls from 5% to 1.5% it just means prices are going up more slowly. -

Why would it have fried long ago? The point you seem to be missing was that in the past there were just natural phenomenom affecting climate. Now we still have the natural forces, but also man pumping vast quantities of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere whilst shutting off natural balances. The forces driving climate are now compounded and far stronger than before. Added to the increased emissions, man has also highly restricted one of the principal natural regulators of climate - when you get higher CO2 levels you get more rapid vegetation growth, which in turn absorbs the CO2 and produces oxygen. Trees are best at this, especially tropical ones, grass and crops are poor. In the past higher CO2 would have meant growth of of vast forests of giant trees (made bigger by the CO2 available) which then absorbed the carbon and brought the system back into balance. Guess what? humans like trees for wood, especially big ones. We have cut down more than half the forests and replaced them with crops (which we harvest and plough in the chaff which rots and releases carbon). Besides the forests, the oceans provide half the global CO2 /oxygen exchange. Guess what? we have driven down fish stocks worldwide. Not only that but cold water produces more biomass than warm water (which gives more biodiversity but less yield) so as sea temperature rise then the yield falls and the oxygen / CO2 exchange is reduced. Unless we get both a grip on emissions and control population growth we probably really are heading down the celestial poop chute very quickly. Its like the football chant at refs "you don't know what you're doing". We really dont. Its like drving fast blindfolded. Its doesnt guarantee a quick death, but it sure increases the chances. The stupid part is that it isnt really a difficult problem to fix technically. LED TVs use less than 10% of the energy of CRT tvs. Well insulated homes and efficient boilers mean lower bills. Whats not to like?
