What's The Strangest Email You Have Recieved
buctootim replied to John Boy Saint's topic in The Lounge
A few years ago I was working my notice as part of a 'managed exit' - kind of like being sacked except they give you money, time and a good reference. Out the blue I got an email from a recruitment company (I hadn't registered with any) telling me I'd be ideal for a great job they had coming up and asking me to put my name forward, which I did. Turned out the job was the one I was leaving. I briefly was tempted to turn up for the interview just to see the CEOs face. -
He must have had something at some point otherwise Spurs wouldn't have had him the academy. Obviously not everyone turns out to be a world beater but an academy product from the PL should at least have enough about them to get a place in a football league team. Odd one.

He bites and grabs hold of your hair, you wouldn't like it. Bear would be fine though coz Ess has lots of loose change.

Hilarious is better than very funny. I win. -
I think it is, and also linked to the decline in per employee productivity.

Decline in wages worse in UK than most of Europe, including Spain and Cyprus. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23655605

When Ramirez signed he said "they're going to build the team around me" or words to that effect. That clearly hasn't happened, probably because he isnt consistent enough, and now he doesnt look very engaged anymore. I think he'll be off if we get an offer vaguely close to the buying price. Puncheon seems to play best in short runs of games. If he is in the team for too long he starts to fade. Leave him out for a while and he comes back very sharp and direct.

I don't know why he's bothered about the anti gay Olympics anyway, its not like he'd get a medal. Except sumo or something.

Its irony, and taking the mick out of other posts. Its the new fashion. All the 30 somethings are doing it. Its really very funny allegedly. -

I'd say wait till 6 if they're really keen or 8 if they're only vaguely interested. -
Agreed. Exposed to the same info as you I'd independently come to the same conclusion - which is what all this has been about ultimately.

Lolz. Crusading Pap with his trusty sword of truth threatening court orders against anyone who dare question him. Hypocrisy and delicious irony in one post. Pap in my opinion you have some kind of cognitive difficulty, possibly Aspergers. There you go, litigate away.

Whats startling about that piece is how how much more insight and balance a 14 year old French girl has compared with many of the posts on this thread.

Its not an insult Pap. I genuinely think you do have a difficulty processing information in the same way as most people. Aspergers is great if you want to find an error in 2,000 lines of binary code, not so good at seeing things in the round. I know you think its because you have extra insight, but it really isnt. A lot of people with Aspergers are high functioning - my exes brother ran his own shop for example. His views were strikingly similar to yours. Gary McKinnon is another example.

The focus on details in those with Asperger Syndrome can be unreal. They will pick up on the smallest possible details that others are overlooking. When people with Asperger Syndrome see those details it won’t help them understand the entire situation as a whole. Central Coherence is the ability the brain needs in order to process information from the world around us. This information comes into the brain in small bits and pieces and those details have to be glued together in order to see the “big picture”. The Central Coherence Theory tries to explain the inability of people with Asperger to do so. People with Asperger Syndrome have a weak Central Coherence meaning their focus on details is so huge, it prevents them from integrating the small details or pieces into a whole picture. This makes their life very complicated since they only see small fragments of things and people around them. This is often referred to as “living in a fragmented world”. It’s hard to make sense of situations or interact socially accordingly when you are unable to see the “wood for the trees”. Children with Asperger Syndrome will perform low on tasks that demand the processing of detailed information into a meaningful whole. However their performance on tasks that demand processing of details is outstanding. It can be extremely difficult for those with Asperger to make connections between several separate details in a picture. When asked what the picture shown they might give you all the details of the situation but fail to see the context it is in. http://www.asperger-advice.com/asperger-syndrome-details.html

I actually think it can be counter productive. Sponsors shoving their name on to a club / place which has a long tradition just alienates people. Good branding is about being associated with a team people care about and the perception your brand is supporting it, not taking it over / changing it.
