https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/04/COVID-19-total-announced-deaths-30-April-2020.xlsx 3 weeks beyond the peak now, yet they still want to keep the lockdown in place. It’s time to shield the care homes and start slowly relaxing the lockdown after bank holiday weekend.

If your glasses were steaming up you weren’t wearing the mask correctly, and likely had very limited protection.
 -
Hancock yesterday “We don’t see the questions beforehand” Hancock today just so happens to have all of the stats ready on the right page in front of him and reads from it to answer a question about the North East. But they definitely don’t have an idea of the questions they’re going to get.
 -
Clearly masks work to keep the wearer safe or NHS and care staff would be dying at a faster rate than the general public, which isn’t happening.

Yeah you buy a box of 100, not 50 pairs. Unless they were expecting them to list 1 box as 1 item of PPE which is ludicrous.
 -
My favourite part was when they tried to claim it was a national scandal that 1 glove = 1 item of PPE, that really got the faux outrage mob triggered. “In normal times this would end a government” All disposable are sold in totals not pairs, it’s nothing new.

Today’s announced deaths are from as far back as 11th March. It’s almost as if they save a few to add on to the daily total when they feel people need scaring back indoors.
 -
It was made clear that antibody testing was going to be a big part of the 100,000 tests per day, the government had an order in place to buy enough to test 45,000 per day for the next year. It’s not completely their fault they turned out to be unreliable, I don’t know why they don’t come out and say that it was never in the plan to test 100,000 a day to see if they HAVE the virus, and revise their target instead of letting the media hammer them over it.

Seems like there’s a game of lockdown tennis going on. The government are trying to pass the buck to the “science” because they’re too scared to make decisions themselves, and it sounds like they’re planning to give the government a list of potential strategies to try and force them into taking responsibility for any lifting of lockdown restrictions. Get ready for this to carry on for months, especially as they’re relying on antibody testing data to help shape some of those options but there aren’t any reliable antibody tests available.

Yes, but the true curve is going down steadily.
 -
759 people that died between March 22nd and 5pm yesterday.
 -
Also interesting to note that 91.4% of hospital deaths in England have been people over 60 years old.

https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/04/COVID-19-total-announced-deaths-20-April-2020.xlsx Definitely some catching up to do tomorrow but it seems fairly clear that deaths are on the decline.

The Yanks reckon it could be as high as 5.8. Christ knows what that would be as a percentage
 -
Yeah that doesn’t count. “Played for the same club”

	And the football vloggers.
 -
GK Grobbelaar RB Salgado CB Des Walker CB Kompany LB Lahm MF Rui Costa MF Del Piero MF Giggs FW Bergkamp FW Drogba FW Messi That’s the best I could do. 13 European Cup/Champions Leagues and 2 World Cups between them.

New Zealand are probably feeling pretty good about themselves. We could have taken a similar route, it’s one of the benefits of being an island nation.
 -
Isn’t that the point? To react before deaths occur not after.
 -
Are you seriously trying to defend it? The man went on holiday instead of dealing with it ffs.
 -
Or perhaps they’re recording deaths in a way that the world should be following, instead of recording every death with a positive test result as being a death caused by Coronavirus.
 -
I’d be interested to see what Germany’s death figures would look like if they were recording deaths in the same way as the UK. I find it hard to believe that a country that has a higher death per 1,000 people rate than the UK, has roughly a quarter of the Coronavirus deaths. It was reported weeks ago that they were not recording deaths of those with the more serious underlying health conditions, I can’t find any information to say that ever changed.
