  1. Exactly what I've been pondering over the last few days. I guess the answer is "it was all Jason Wilcox's idea" but then why did SR employ someone who seemingly has a different footballing philosophy to the ownership...?
  2. Hmm, agree, that does alter the 'caretaker' dynamic somewhat... Unless there's some kind of pre-agreed 6 month mutual break clause in there (maybe?)

    Dreamland... Sign him up! πŸ˜‰

I think it's the least confusing decision SR have made thus far... Meanwhile, back to the thread where the new manager is being discussed... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  5. I'm all for self-deprecation on here, but please don't be too harsh on yourself Jordan
  6. That's a fair point of view, but one with which I ultimately disagree. Would be a tad dull if we all agreed though
  7. Fair point, although I guess it's a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation. If they gave the next manager a 3 year deal (say), there would be as much criticism on the other side of the coin, and could lead to even more upheaval in the summer. Getting someone in effectively on trial seems sensible to me, and gives SR 6 months to hatch a transition plan for the summer, should they need one, in order to minimise any upheaval. (Yeah, I know... SR and "planning"... Hmm... )
  8. Indeed. If this appointment is to achieve one thing, it's to flush the Martin tactical mentality out of the players' minds. This fella sounds like he'll achieve that, and some...
  9. Ah, yes! Good spot! 😁
  10. It's the opposite IMO. The 'clever Ankersen' option would've been to give the Danish fella a long term contract. But giving someone a 6 month contract and reassessing the situation in the summer is the most logical and pragmatic approach, which is most unlike Ankersen in my view!
  11. I'm surprised not to see a 'George' clue anywhere on the thread given Juric is the Slavic derivation of the name. Missed opportunity there I reckon
  12. Seems likely, on the surface....
  13. This☝️ A caretaker manager was always going to be the most pragmatic approach and I'm glad they've heeded my advice (ha ha ha). As you say, we're as good as down anyway, so it ultimately didn't matter who the caretaker manager was, as the primary aim for the remainder of the season has to be to flush the Martin mentality (aka "scar tissue") out of the players before the next campaign. And if this Juric fella is a bit of a hard taskmaster, then it's a win-win situation IMHO, as at least he'll get them fitter if all else fails.
  14. Yeah, most unlike a club plant to slip in a massive clue 24 hours before something happens...
  15. ☝️ Yep... a Russ team would dish up Sunday lunch but then put one of the plates down on the floor for the dog to eat, whereas last night, some food on one of the plates inadvertantly slipped off whilst taking it from the kitchen to the dining room. Other dubious anaolgies are available
  16. All of which, alas, makes it inevitable they'll go for the Danish fella....
  17. There's every chance that could be down to the person being naff rather than the underlying concept being naff... #MLG_MODE
  18. (humble apologies for any offence caused... couldn't resist )
  19. Best get the players in for training on Saturday, just in case...
  20. She died in 2019, so difficult to tell....
