What the f**k is wrong with these people....? Is there some kind of aptitude test you have to fail before you can become part of the Post Office management team....? https://uk.yahoo.com/news/horizon-scandal-ongoing-sub-postmasters-202022770.html

I think we'd all agree with this 'fantasy' choice but, of course, in the real world there is a third, less palatable option, and that is losing in the play-off final. So, yes, given all real world options, the only sensible and pragmatic choice is auto-promotion by any means, rather than the relative lottery of the playoffs.

IF... - We win our game in hand - Leeds beat Leicester - We beat Leicester - We match the points haul of Leicester's and Leeds' other remaining games Then we'd finish 5 points behind Leicester and 4 points ahead of Leeds. No idea what point I'm trying to make here though, if any...!

Jump into a DeLorean and join Saints on loan in last month's transfer window...?

Hi @Reggie Rodway- sorry for delayed reply... Have been on the road. Have just replied to your Dad's PM. Will get my son to call you

My son has a ticket for this game but can't make it now. So he's selling at face value (£26) or near offer. Must be collected from Basingstoke though. (Note, it's an Under 25 ticket).

After yesterday, I'm more convinced than ever that we'll go through the rest of the season unbeaten. (There, that's put the kybosh on it... Lump your life savings on a Bristol City win...!)

With Downes possibly out for a while, could we see Bragg coming into contention for selection? I could be wrong but he's perhaps the closest match we've got for Downes in terms of style/type of player...? Yes, he's possibly "too young" and/or "too inexperienced" but I reckon he's looked very composed and not out of place in the cameos he's played this season. I think Russ rates him very highly too. Probably Charles to start and Bragg on the bench for this game? Prefer either of those two in the holding midfield role over Smallbone, who I think is much better suited to a slightly more advanced midfield position.

Just seen the score... Looks like I picked the wrong day to be out and about... Never any doubt...?!

Northerners not being clever enough to understand tongue-in-cheek humour... Well, there's a surprise...

Half correct.... Manchester isn't in the adminstrative 'county' of Lancashire but it is still in the historic / geographical county of Lancashire.... https://www.forl.co.uk/

Apologies if already posted...

How on earth was their number 5 not booked for that cynical foul on Dibling? (Assuming he wasn't) Edit: just seen it from another angle and not as bad as I first thought,so ignore me

Did they put out a full strength side, i.e. their core starting 11 in the league? (Genuine question, I've no idea)
-
Indeed... either Alzheimer's or perhaps the most blatant example of perjury I think I've ever seen?!
-
The more I think about it the more I conclude that there are pros and cons for either approach to this game... 1) Playing a full strength side... Pros: best chance of getting a result; less chance of getting hammered; huge morale booster if we were to win Cons: if we were to lose fairly heavily (e.g. 3-0 and beyond), that could dent the confidence of our core starting 11; increased chance of injury to key/core players, thus potentially denting promotion chances 2) Maintaining our existing rotation policy for cup games... Pros: reduces expectation of winning to practically zero, therefore a fairly heavy defeat wouldn't have a significant impact on morale of core starting 11; loyalty to cup squad/fringe players helps with squad unity Cons: increases chance of upgrading a 'fairly heavy' defeat to a humiliating defeat (e.g. 9-0); core/key players might get miffed for missing out on playing So, on balance, I think I'll leave it up to Russ to call this one....

They were actually well taken shots... Another inch to the right and we'd be talking about two sublime goals... Fine margins... If they had been completely flunked efforts then it might have affected their confidence but I'd actually say the opposite for these two attempts... They got themselves in great positions and had positive, composed shots on goal.

I'm slightly conflicted... Heart says: unchanged starting 11 from previous league game Head says: we have to find a starting berth for Brooks given he's obviously a cut above most of our squad, as good as they are at the moment. I think I'm leaning towards the head rather than the heart though... So I'd bring in Brooks for Adams... Either way, it's another 3 goals and 3 points for the mighty Saints! COYR!

Just realised we had three 17 year olds on the pitch tonight. Nice one.

Yeah, reminded me of the runs he made for that hat trick Vs Newcastle in the u23s last year
