Ultimately, yes, but the default position seems to be that a player has to opt out of an extension rather than opt in. A bit like an insurance renewal whereby if you forget to cancel it you're stuffed because they've got you tied in for another period of time. Anyway, just a minor observation in the general scheme of things

Edit: I am of course assuming we haven't spent another c.£15m before the Villa game... (Even if we have, it would be harsh to leave out any of the above, Boruc excepted perhaps...)

Just watched the highlights on MotD. 9 times out of 10 the 2nd Ramirez goal would've stood. How many times have we seen goals scored after a slight nudge? Harsh IMO (yes, I'm certified biased!)
