Miraw Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 04:22 PM Imaginary conversation between BC and AA: BC: What the fck was that about! I thought you said all was OK and I wouldn't have to get involved again? AA: Well, I'm sorry but I couldn't imagine that the Lithuanian Gvt would get involved. I had my doubts but I must admit they were quite convincing. BC: Shut up! We all know that it was the 2 blonde Lithuanian escorts who convinced you. Now get out there and find me someone who's going to get me my money back. And this time for good! .....A few weeks later..... BC: So what have we got? AA: Well, there are a few interested parties, although nothing outstanding. Here's the list. The first one is a consortium. They seem to have a good business pl... BC: Cut the cr@p! Is there anyone in there who will pay the cash up front? AA: Well, there's this Italian bloke, although I don't know where the money's coming from. BC: If he has it, it's good enough for me. He's the one. AA: OK, but I'm not sure that his business plan is realistic and I don't think he would pass the FPPT. BC: I don't give a s**t about the business plan and I already told I would take care of the FPPT, like I did last time. AA: Ok, but soemone will have to tell the fans.. BC: That's your job, isn't it? Let's face it, you've become quite good at making up BS and it'll give you another opportunity to parade on front of the cameras and you love that. Now tell this guy that I want the money in small notes on my desk by the end of January. And after that, I never want to hear or see you again. Now pi88 off!!

Photo news just in.... The Football League discuss PFC financial situation at last meeting...

Great minds thinking alike again.... ;-)

I could be missing something here but assuming 'PFC' was a significant revenue stream for 'PFC TV' doesn't that imply that 'PFC TV' could conceivably be in "financial difficulties" because one of their (*cough*) "significant revenue streams" (*cough*)dried up...? If you get my drift.... Nah, can't be....that would imply that PFC weren't meeting their financial obligations, and we know that isn't the case becuase they aren't in financial difficulty....

pn_neil_allenNeil Allen PFC TV suspended. http://bit.ly/zmVzUi #Pompey 28 seconds ago We regret to inform you that PFCTV has been suspended due to matters beyond the control of Portsmouth Football Club. The provision of the PFCTV service is outsourced to a separate company, Portsmouth LiveTV, which has been unable to fulfil its obligations to provide a service. We understand this is because they have run into financial difficulties. This includes debts to Portsmouth Football Club. We are very sorry for the loss of PFCTV and are currently working on building a replacement Pompey video and matchday commentary service, run in-house to give supporters the quality of coverage they deserve. We acknowledge that over the past few weeks subscribers have not been given the service that their subscription warrants and as a result we plan a complimentary introductory offer to those existing subscribers who sign up to the new service. In the interim we will be adding additional, free-to-access content on our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/officialpfc/ For those of you who pay a monthly subscription to PFCTV, you may wish to consider contacting your bank/credit card company to cancel your direct debit. For those who have paid an annual subscription to PFCTV, we will do all we can to assist you in recovering your monies. We will keep you informed of developments about the launch of the new service which we are working to get online as soon as possible and once again we apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused.

Agree with that. Didn't stop my 11 year old son howling with laughter all the way through it though.

And there was me thinking all along that it was CSI that was in trouble, not the football club. Doh. That'll be 10 points please oh wise Football League executive committee. It doesn't get any more clear cut than that. When's the next meeting?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16599834 A special edition of the BBC show Top Gear in India which led to a complaint by the Indian High Commission was not insulting, the programme has said. December's programme featured jokes about food and trains, and a Jaguar car fitted with a toilet seat in its boot. Last week, the Indian High Commission in London complained that the show was "offensive" and had "toilet humour". Top Gear said the show was a "warts and all" portrayal of India, and the jokes were at the expense of the presenters. The High Commission of India wrote a letter to the BBC, published in the Daily Telegraph, criticising a lack of cultural sensitivity and called on the corporation to take action to pacify those offended. Raja Sekhar, from the commission, said the letter was sent to show "strong disappointment" after he claimed the show "ran down the whole society, culture and people". One Indian diplomat criticised a scene in the 90-minute show which showed presenter Jeremy Clarkson taking off his trousers at a party to demonstrate how to use a trouser press. Showing off the customised Jaguar, complete with toilet roll on its aerial, Clarkson said: "This is perfect for India because everyone who comes here gets the trots." In its first full response to the criticism, Top Gear said the programme was "filled with incidents but none of them were an insult to the Indian people or the culture of the country". In a statement on the BBC's complaints website, it said: "Our film showed the charm, the beauty, the wealth, the poverty and the idiosyncrasies of India, but there's a vast difference between showing a country, warts and all, and insulting it. "It's simply not the case that we displayed a hostile or superior attitude to our hosts and that's very clear from the way the presenters can be seen to interact with them along the way." The statement added: "We genuinely loved our time in India and if there were any jokes to be had they were, as ever, reflected back on the presenters rather than the Indian people." Last April, a Top Gear episode which caused controversy with jokes branding Mexicans lazy and feckless and describing Mexican food as "like sick with cheese on it" was cleared by broadcasting watchdog Ofcom. The show attracted 157 complaints but Ofcom said Top Gear was well known for its "irreverent style and sometimes outspoken humour".

Who are the trustees of Markus' estate in that case? No direct link, granted, but one family all the same. A bit like CSI and Pompey I guess....no fiscal connection whatsoever.... (P.s. my post from 'Cranes Today' was slightly tongue-in-cheek... ;-) )

I might just try that approach with my credit card provider next time they request a payment.... "I don't owe you this money, it's a figment of your imagination"

Sounds highly plausible to me. And, of course, publishing a 'company line' article, attributed to the player, saying that he's "happy and not going anywhere" can only help maximise the price.

Maybe we should merge this thread with the Pompey Takeover Saga thread.....then we'd have beens on toast..... boom, tish....
