  1. Yes, but someone can still buy the "fiscally totally unconnected" parent company and start injecting funds into the subsidiary, couldn't they?
  2. Doesn't the timing matter in terms of whether they get the deduction this season or next? That said, if they're liquidated then I get your drift...! :-)
  3. So, planning ahead, how is the agenda for tomorrow's instalment of the 'pompey takeover saga' thread shaping up? Who's likely to make the first move tomorrow? HMRC? AA? The Football League? Chainrai? Lampitt? Uncle Tom Cobbly? (of course, I am excluding the Bagpuss sideshow from this)
  4. Not a dickie bird about today's off-field developments at Pompey on the Football League Show just now.
  5. Which, of course, ultimately failed....
  6. Who exactly is on the PFC board now that Akers has left? Just Lampitt?
  7. That Guardian article popping up this evening when it did is a bit of a coincidence. I had just gone to make some toast before coming back to the thread. 100% true story.
  8. The local hospital where my missus and her sister work are starting to re-deploy their highly trained nurses who, over time, became a bloated management tier of pen-pushers back onto the ward. So, without spending any extra money they will have more senior medical staff on the wards. Beats rocket science any day of the week.
  9. Agree. A lot of people see 'change' and think 'criticism'. As good as the NHS is as, the faults and inefficiency I hear about behind the scenes are frightening. Just because something is 'brilliant' on the surface does mean it can't be 10 times better under the covers.
  10. Well, at least the Football League now have it in black and white that Lampitt admits that PFC haven't been able to trade solvently since the collapse of CSI.
  11. Riiiight... (Old git Trousers nods in faux acknowledgement despite being none the wiser!) :-)
  12. Indeed. Text book negotiation tactics before going in for the kill. Still in phase 2 (out of 3). Just a hunch though. Could be wrong (for once) :-)
  13. Harsh :-)
  14. People pick on Cameron's disability (aka Nick Clegg)
  15. Incorrect. I vote Tory and I'm very generous. Indeed, the smaller the state and the less tax I pay the more generous I get. I'm much more efficient at distributing my relative wealth than any government of any colour would ever be. Selfish my arse.
  16. If one was going to be pedantic, he doesn't actually answer the original question directly. If the original question was "How do you rate our 2 new signings?" then his answer would be more direct. That said, I did get the "101 ways to post on a thread in the style of MLG" for Christmas ;-)
  17. I'm undecided
  18. What crime would I be reporting?
  19. Am I the only one who hasn't a clue what the text means, let alone who 'Nicola' is?
  20. Why do journalists take a seemingly categoric quote such as "that's it, end of story" and paraphrase it with an element (no matter how small) of doubt: "Adkins has all but given up hope". Why not just say: "Adkins has given up hope" instead of qualifying it with "all but"?
  21. No, we've actually gone back in time 2 years...well, it's either that or an overwhelming sense of deja vu....
  22. Actually, in all seriousness, aren't we duty bound as citizens to report a suspected crime to the police?
  23. The Northampton CCJ had cropped up on this thread a while back (can't remember when) but nine unpaid bills?! Does it say how much for and to whom? Cheers
  24. Top post Sid :-)
