Good point - yep, if AP announces from the rooftops that we desperately need a box-to-box midfielder then the price for anyone we've got earmarked or are already talking to will skyrocket. So, yep, the less it's mentioned the more likely it is to happen. In theory...

Haven't you answered your own question there? A player who has been in the squad for 2 years that you've never seen play.... Ok, perhaps he isn't "rubbish" but if he had the right level of general talent isn't there a chance that he would have played for the first team in the third tier of English football a little more often? Granted, the 'evidence' is more circumstantial than tangible but, David, the clues are there as we go throooooough the keyhole...

Hmmm, not sure I see the logic of fielding a hybrid team. Means that the first team will have another week to wait before playing as a unit. Perhaps a compromise given the Farmborough website were promoting the game as the Saints first team??

Hmmm, yep, just watched that and it does pretty much confirm that it's not the first team going to Farnborough....which sort of contradicts that OS article I quoted above whereby Pardew (i.e. the first team manager) suggested that 'they' (i.e. the squad that came back from Interlaken) needed to start winning at Farnborough. Hey ho. We shall see.
