  1. Goodnight (children)
  2. That's what I find amusing in some of the post "debate" interviews with 'the general public'. They nearly always moan about the leaders when they start being critical about each other's parties. Welcome to great Britain 2010 where even a good old slanging match is politically incorrect. (as is using those last two words in a sentence too)
  3. Which, by default, makes it inaccurate of course....
  4. A hung parliament will be the best outcome for the Tories in the long run. In other words, I agree with the head of the bank of England. If cameron gets in with a majority this time the fickle British public will vote him out in 5 years due to the impact of the necessary cuts. A hung parliament will show (IMHO) that consensus government won't work in the uk as a whole (it's more suited as a model to regional government) and as such I believe we'd see another election within 2 years at which point the public will have a much clearer view of the viable options. So i'd be surprised if cameron isn't secretly wishing for no overall decision next week (whilst not microphoned up, obviously)
  5. Yeah, but Mandy and Campbell are saying the polls don't mean anything so we can all ignore them. Sigh.
  6. No, it was the bigoted voters....
  7. Cameron 41% Clegg 34% Brown 25%

Some of my close family work in the NHS. I won't divulge the information that gives me access to as it would burst the rosey bubble. It may (and often does) look good from theoutside but behind the scenes there is often dismay at how inefficiently and illogically the nhs is run. Some of what I hear genuinely astounds me, and that's from a hospital that gets high ratings

If we're to judge today's political parties by what they did years/decades ago then I'll see your yesteryear Tory party and raise you a yesteryear labour party. Good game, good game...
  11. I use this: http://www.lmsoft.com/ Probably not the most sophisticated website design tool in the world (it's of the "what you see is what you get" variety) but it's simple to use (thus matching my intellect) and you can get good results out of it.

  13. There's an easy way around that without breaking the disclaimer. Just give detailed descriptions of what it DOESN'T look like. We can then work it out from there. Win win
  14. Labour supporters take spin to a new bottom of barrel level.
  15. That makes him as bad as John Major.... ;-)
  16. What has surprised me most about this episode is that no one in the media or world at large has seemingly picked up on Brown's biggest gaffe. Not the bigot quote; not the instinctual blame diversion to his advisors; not the contempt for 'ordinary' voters' views but the very fact that he thought the discussion with the woman had gone badly. I actually thought he handled his 'first' real/unrehearsed punter quite well. The fact Brown even thought it was a "disaster" tells me all I need to know about his judgement capabilities. That was his biggest gaffe IMHO
  17. Makes a change from a headless chicken from the daily mirror
  18. Aneka (Rice; as in 'challenge aneka'; Baboon Sanctury anyone?)
  19. Aye. Sweepstake on the number of times brown utters: "I'm only human" in tonight's debate?
  20. Slightly interesting observation.... I didn't see Cameron on TV on the campaign trail at all yesterday. I'm surprised the media didn't seem to squeeze a quote from him on the Brown faux pas. I guess the Tories are taking the view that less is more in terms of the impact of their reaction to yesterday's events
  21. The tragedy for me is that when you see Mrs Duffy walking back home after the friendly chat with Mr Brown, she has no loaf of bread. Givem that's all she went out for, what a wasted journey.
