  1. Disagree. We need to concentrate on the league (as they say in cliche land). 100%. As long as Pardew is good with his man management, and the players are pragmatic, then defeat in either of the forthcoming cup games won't (shouldn't) affect '1st team' morale. That's just an opinion but feel free to jump down one's throat as is people's want on here....
  2. Fair point but I still think some managers are too dogmatic about the timing of their substitutions. As you rightly point out...it worked on 55mins last week but not quite this week. Suggests to me maybe the manager needed to do the subs a bit earlier this time around
  3. Good comeback but pardew changed team too late. We should have changed at half tome...just like I posted...why do some managers insist on not changing until 10 minutes into the second half? If it ain't working change it straight away rather than giving it an arbitrary amount of extra time!
  4. Yessssssssssszz!
  5. Keeps me amused. He should keep it up
  6. Bobby Davro

  11. Ffs...said we needed to change at half time....pardew out! (just joshing)
  12. I never understand the 'tradition' of waiting until 15 mins before changing things. Apart from last week of course! Change it now I say!
  13. Antonio and Connolly on at half time please mr pardew
  14. Bring on Antonio and Connolly ffs!
  15. Come on saints
  16. Can't get SaintsTv commentary via my iPhone as it uses flashplayer. Techology my arse
  17. Anyway, shouldn't the thread title be: "Pompey/Saints Rivalry"...alphabetically?
  18. What he said
  19. Tight call that one
  20. Cheers - aye, just looking at Google maps....the whole Locks Heath/Park Gate/Swanwick/Whiteley area seems prime candidate for 'dual supporter territory'. Would be interested to hear some views from people living in those areas. Is the 'rivalry' more intense in 'border' areas? Or perhaps people living there are more pragamatic about it through living in close proximity to each other all the time?
  21. Genuine 'out of interest' query....where abouts geographically is the nominal 'dividing line' between natural Saints territory and Pompey territory? I'm thinking is there a street somewhere between Southampton and Portsmouth where one side is 'Saints' and the other side is 'Pompey'...? Or is there 'no mans land' between the two? Excuse my poor grasp on south coast geography....I live furtehr north in the posh part of 'Ampshire... ;-)
  22. so those of us with the entire chris de burgh back catalogue are safe then?
  23. Q: What's the best thing a Saints fan can do to annoy and wind-up a Pompey fan? A: Tell them you don't hate Pompey. They ENJOY the hatred some of us send their way, it's what they want to hear. Keep feeding their hunger for hatred and you give them what they want. Me? I'd rather get on their tits by NOT hating them. Yours sincerely, Trousers Reverse Psychology Society
  24. How about: "congratulations for liking football for what it is - a form of entertainment - rather than getting dragged down into the inane tribalism that football engenders in a lot of people. Good for you sir" ?
  25. Sounds like he lives locally and likes watching football. Sounds like perfectly rational human behaviour to me. The words 'rocket' and 'science' spring to mind.
