  1. Would we rather have someone who actually used to play for us though?
  2. You really should've mentioned this before now, rather than leave us to have a wild stab-in-the-dark as to your thoughts on the matter over the last few weeks...

  4. Alongside a "more experienced coach" = Jess Thorup maybe?
  5. And if we'd got him but on a longer term contract there'd be people moaning that the contract was too long... "Damned if they do..." etc
  6. One assumes Sturgeon will be calling for re-elections up there like she did when the Tory leadership changed in Westminster...?
  7. Oops...! 🤣
  8. Whatever happened to the pragmatism and benefit-of-the-doubt you gave to the previous manager...?
  9. House!
  10. I think we're in agreement then.... Managers can succeed at some clubs (e.g. Bournemouth, Newcastle) and fail at others (e.g. Bournemouth, Burnley)....
  11. So why have Man City wasted all that money employing Pep over the years when they could've been as successful under Nathan Poundland Jones....?
  12. I thought the Saintsweb intelligentsia were hailing Howe as a genius...?
  13. Why did Newcastle appoint a manager who got a team relegated from the PL and who failed when he previously went to another premier league team? It's almost as if managers have the capacity to succeed at some clubs and fail at others...
  14. *couldn't have done worse
  15. I'm sure there's a punchline about haddocks and snatches there somewhere but it's alluding me at the moment.
  16. Leeds City FC one assumes...? https://www.leedscityfc.co.uk/
  17. I'll try anything once. Count me in.
  18. Chomp chomp chomp
  19. If that happens and you go into self-congratulatory overdrive again, remember that I came up with this very scenario before you...
  20. Indeed. I don't think we should underestimate the importance of such a trait in a manager. What our players have been lacking for some time now is that spark of inspiration and self-belief. A high-profile ex-pro such as Gerrard could certainly bring a level of inspiration to the group that a more run-of-the-mill option wouldn't be able to. Gerrard isn't top of my list by any means but it's not an appointment I would be unhappy with per se. (Even better if he and Searle were reunited of course)
  21. Sounds logical but I guess it depends upon why the players got hacked off with Ralph in the first place. Maybe they were more hacked off with the system Ralph instilled, and his dogmatism in sticking with it, rather it just being a clash of personalities? If it was the former, then bringing in a Ralph tactical clone (i.e. marsch) could lead us straight back to square one...?
  22. Same source as before..?
  23. The exception that proves the rule...?
  24. On the plus side, it's good to see how these chancer Twitter accounts get followers and re-tweets. I did wonder if there were really that many gullible people on the planet. Turns out there are...
  25. Can someone file this thread in the "least of our worries" folder...?
