  1. Thought you were talking about this message board for a moment there....
  2. My contribution to Rudolf Skacel's wages
  3. Didn't Dan Williams (aka HelpMeRhonda) deploy similar tactics to try and force the hand of Blackburn's board? Why do would be investors of other clubs see SFC as a Trojan Horse?
  4. Indeed. It's known in the trade as "cutting off nose to spite face". It would be somewhat ironic if the dogmatic view of some season ticket holders brought the club down because the club was 'too scared' to upset them in these rapidly changing and difficult financial times. Surely season ticket holders should be encouraging the club to react to the market and reduce 'pay-as-you-go' prices to protect their investment? To do otherwise is illogical.
  5. But if we close the thread where will all the bean spillers (that 'promised' to spill the beans) spill their beans? Here is as good a place as any....surely?
  6. Oops....apart from Davis and Surman....
  7. The Welsh and East Anglians were poor to start with so their budgets won't be affected. Us rich b*stards in the South have had further to fall and therefore must adjust our budgets accordingly. Not forgetting the fact that there is much more to do in the South than watch grown men chase a ball around a field. Go Trousers, go. No, literally....go....
  8. "Interesting" to note that none of the outfield 'first team' shirt numbers (i.e. 2 - 11) are currently held by players regularly in the first team starting line-up.... Speaks volumes about how much the club has changed in a few short months...
  9. Good to see Mr Skacel still proudly holding the number 7 shirt....
  10. Still no Skacel.... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10738 "The reserves will be looking to continue their run of good form at Aldershot Town on Tuesday afternoon. Kick off 2pm at the EBB Stadium. It's game five of the totesport.com Combination division for Mark Wotte's side who have won three games in a row. Last time out they took part in a five goal thriller which a youthful Saints team ran out 3-2 winners against QPR at Loftus Road. Aldershot's one win in the league so far this term came against Charlton with a 2-0 success. Player/coach Ricky Newman currently takes control of the Shots' second string. For Saints, new signing Ryan Smith features again after playing a strong role in last week's victory. The squad maintains a youthful look to it, as many of those involved played a key role in the Academy's success over Chelsea on Saturday. Saints Reserves: Tommy Forecast, Andrej Pernecky, Jamie Hatch, Jeffrey Imudia, Kyle Davies, Ben Reeves, Ryan Tafazolli, Callum McNish, Jake Thomson, Oscar Gobern, Tom Dunford, Matt Paterson, Jamie White, Ryan Smith, Sam Argent, Kayne McLaggon, Tony Garrod."
  11. You drive a hard bargain but....oh...go on then....
  12. Is ours 48% of physical capacity (i.e. c.32,000) or 48% of the seats actually available to buy at a given game (i.e. excluding the corners as they have been deemed 'unavailable seats') ?
  13. Coupled with the fact that most recent trades have gone for under the offer price at c.24p, yes, would appear slightly curious....
  14. As a taxpayer, I'm now a major shareholder in RBS and HBOS, so will put a good word in for SFC at the next board meeting. I can't promise anything but it may happen next week but, rest assured, I'll spill the beans if it doesn't....
  15. That's an uncanny likeness!
  16. So, yet another week passes following yet another peppering of "Someone who knows someone who knows Fulthorpe has been told that 'it' is still on and 'could' be next week" coupled with "if it doesn't happen I'll spill the beans". And what do we have? No money where the mouth is and no beans on the floor. I don't know what's more annoying.....the hollow words of the supposed consortiums or the hollow words of the would be bean spillers.... Or, indeed, the muppet that keeps bumping this thread....
  17. Global warming is a myth
  18. Why not?
  19. God is to blame. If he hadn't invented the planet then Sturrock wouldn't have been sacked and Wigley wouldn't have been appointed. That said, even if this planet hadn't been invented I'm convinced there would still be a Southampton centre back getting terminally injured on some other planet or parallel universe. Such events are impervious to divine intervention. So, it's either God or Svennson to blame. One of the two anyway.
  20. What other options are open to fans who boo to show their displeasure at a player? I think fans have every right to show their displeasure to a team or player whom they believe isn't giving them 'value for money'. Granted, booing is a tad neanderthal, but back to the question I pose.....what other options are open to the paying public? Writing a letter to the player or team after the game?
  21. Perhaps Glenn Hoddle should accept the return of Glenn Hoddle first....? Call me old fashioned.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1021528/Ex-England-boss-Glenn-Hoddle-says-turned-second-stint-Saints--manage-again.html
  22. In a word..."No"....the chap below summed up the actual reason quite nicely.....
  23. I've never understood how one football 'deal broker' can act for so many clubs and have all their interests at heart. When a Dubai consortium knocks on their door, how do they decide which client (e.g. Charlton or Southampton) to promote the hardest? (Give it 5 mins before someone comes up with an Estate Agent analogy.....)
