  1. Sounds a bit fishy to me....surely Reading would have known whether Pearce was in their New Year plans a few days ago when the loan extension was agreed and announced.....unless this is another Lowe 'jumping the gun' on the contract front.....a la Poortvliet in the summer....? There you go....someone's started to blame Lowe already.....
  2. Wonder how long it will be before someone has a pop at Lowe for not securing a better loan agreement.....tick, tick, tick.....
  3. Ah, ye olde 'compare a necessary evil Vs an unnecessary evil' philosophy. I was just thinking it was about time for that old chestnut to be wheeled out (pun intended).
  4. Mind you don't bump into me having a J.Arthur in trap 2
  5. Yep. Done that. And the finances suggest we should legalise and tax all narcotics. Perhaps we should base all of society's decisions on cost alone....?
  6. The coffee acts more as a catalyst
  7. Hmmm.....100,000 shares @ 18.5p per chance?
  8. Cue the usual 'smokers pay tax' retort...
  9. Damn....you've just given away my bad habit! I do it whilst sitting at my seat in football grounds though....similar concept though I guess
  10. My unsocialble habit is much more like-for-like....just let me know where you sit and you can judge for yourself....
  11. Fret ye not....I hear on the wire that some geezer has invented a new gizmo that conditions air. I believe they are going to call it 'Air Conditioning'. Genius. It'll even filter out cigarette smoke if they ever repeal the ban....
  12. Where do you sit in SMS? It sounds like I have a volunteer to experience my own unsocialble habit! I'd recommend bringing a gagool to the next game...
  13. Ah, ye olde "two (or more) wrongs making a right" philospohy....
  14. Indeed. Perhaps there should be some sort of 'give and take' compromise here. In other words, I'd be happy to allow smokers to indulge in their unsocialble habit if I can be allowed to indulge in my equally unsociable habit in return? (probably best not to divulge the details of said habit here given the proximity to lunchtime....) Not sure about the "fairness" side of things but I would suggest that such practices are illegal? Whereabouts do the corporates smoke? Inside the ground?
  15. Of course. But not sure what that's got to do with the accuracy of the reporting of player contract dates?
  16. Indeed. Coupled with the fact that SLH shares have actually held quite steady over the last few months whilst the rest of the financial world crumbled. So, apart from that not a bad comparison...
  17. Rupert's white tie catches the light from his face
  18. Wilde: "You see those internet geeks sitting there? Make sure you keep your ears covered so they can't work out which branch of David Dein's family you are from"
  19. Woman back to Wilde: "So when will these kids be old enough to understand that concept?" (sorry...cheap shot)
  20. Wilde: Look, these shares are worth next to nothing. Can you Help me Rhonda?
  21. Reading the above rams it home that Lowe has control over a football club with such a paultry sum of bottom-line cash. Just over £300k? How can a single man have so much power and grip on a club with such a small stake?
  22. Is it me or are 80% of Echo articles a direct cut-and-paste of what's posted on here the day before?!
  23. Wilde: You see this letter I'm holding? Hand it to Rupert and he'll read it out at the AGM. Don't worry, it'll be anonymous
  24. Do what I did and take up masturbation instead. That's not illegal as long as you confine yourself to one of the traps in the toilet and it has the added bonus of being quicker than a fag (so to speak)
