Even with relegation looking likely, any manager would still be getting a big wage compared to many clubs throughout Europe (even after relegation) and a squad that should be capable of mounting a very good chance of promotion back to the PL. That still makes it an attractive job across Europe. Obviously not as attractive as if we were mid table with little threat of going down, but still an attractive job.

Wilcox had not been a DoF before Saints appointed him. He was not a 'fully-fledged known DoF', yet most seem to consider him a good appointment. Plus it wasn't just Rugby, Bitcon was also at Man City for 3 and half years. This isn't me saying Bitcon has done a good job. Results this season suggest heavily otherwise.

Goztepe doing well is a good thing for Saints. Hard for some to see it given the mess Saints are currently in (which as a Saints fan will be everyone's main focus), but ultimately all the clubs in the group doing well will have benefits across all the clubs in the medium to long term. Sure we looked screwed this season, but given time SR might get all clubs on the right track as they have shown they can do it with Goztepe. It isn't lack of investment that has screwed Saints, we've spent £260m+ on transfer fees in the last two PL seasons, the issue is how the money has been spent.

No it isn't. The club use the director of football title when talking about him. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/2024-25-bbc-radio-solent-fans-forum?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=fan-forum&utm_content=image Plus they have hired a new director of performance (Bitcon's original job), so it isn't a temporary move for Bitcon to DoF. https://x.com/ground_guru/status/1864313132719452567

Saints appointed a DoF replacement for Wilcox already and also hired a replacement for the internal promotion.

Goztepe are 4th in the Turkish top flight. So they are getting something right in football, even though it might not seem like it for Saints fans.
-
Russell Martin even stated post match it was two upfront.
-
We have. Watch more closely

Sky Sports commentators not picked up Saints have been playing 442 diamond for vast majority of this game. With Armstrong and Archer upfront, with Fernandes behind in 10 role. Only used three at the back briefly at the start of the game.

Biden has given Ukraine permission to use US missiles to strike in Russian territory. Potentially a very significant escalatation.

He is contracted to the FA as England under 21 manager after leaving his interim role with the senior team after today's match.

Should Dragan Šolak remove Rasmus Ankersen from the SFC board?
Matthew Le God replied to Dark Munster's topic in The Saints
This poll is flawed. Rasmus Ankersen is co founder and CEO of Sport Republic he can't and won't be 'kicked out'. He isn't going to sack himself! -
He has been the ref in Saints games, so would mean he lied to the governing bodies.
-
We do have a Director of football and it is not a 'business' person.
-
What makes you think Gao made the appointment?
-
I did not use those words.
-
Better how? He was a nothing owner that didn't invest a single penny in the club. Sure SR have messed up lots of transfers, but we've still had £260m+ of spending over the last 2 PL seasons. At least SR are trying (even though it is failing).

Those are claims, not evidence for the claim. That is circular!

Prove it! 😉😇

Find a reputable football news source that regularly uses season formats of 2022/2023 or 2024/2025 rather than formatting them like 2022/23 or 2024/25. Not an easy task to find one (let alone multiple).
-
I didn't say 'would', I said 'could' and by 'could' I mean under spending limits.
-
The point he made was they could have spent a lot more in 2024/25 if they didn't screw up the transfers in 2022/23.
-
He did not say they didn't spend a lot. He said they were restricted from spending more than they did due to previous spending. There is a difference between those two things.
-
They don't. We've benefitted from them as well.
-
They were attacking subs than you think, Sugawara is a more attacking full back than Stephens. Plus Ugochukwu playing as the holding midfielder instead of Lallana allows Aribo and Fernandes to go further forward knowing they have a specialist holding player behind them.
