  1. So we are in agreement... it can mean what I said. So where is your issue?
  2. The phrase 'top league side' can mean a team that plays in a top league. Which is what they were.
  3. They were a top league side when he played for them last season.
  4. You appear to think I've said something I have not said.
  5. You don't know what the truth is.
  6. It was half a friendly and the captain and vice captain weren't playing. They don't need to groom someone to be captain using half a friendly.
  7. Being captain for one half of a friendly because Ward-Prowse and Romeu weren't on the pitch isn't an indication of anything apart from him being a senior player in the squad.
  8. I've never said that.
  9. The context of my post was a response to him saying that him being captain for half a friendly match is an indicator he isn't leaving. It isn't really, he was just the most suitable person to be captain with Ward-Prowse and Romeu not on the pitch.
  10. Jack Stephens new contract was reported in September 2020. Contract ending 2024. https://theathletic.com/news/exclusive-jack-stephens-agrees-new-long-term-southampton-contract/bo8LfBeiblPj/ Alex McCarthy new contracted was reported in August 2021. Contract ending 2024. https://theathletic.com/2788898/2021/08/25/exclusive-alex-mccarthy-signs-new-three-year-deal-at-southampton-paving-the-way-for-forster-departure/ The club did not announce either of them at the time, and instead did so this summer.
  11. His new contract wasn't reported as happening last season. It was in September 2020, taking him to 2024. https://theathletic.com/news/exclusive-jack-stephens-agrees-new-long-term-southampton-contract/bo8LfBeiblPj/
  12. That isn't really an indication, he was just the most suitable captain on the pitch for a friendly with the captain and vice captain not playing at the time.
  13. Man Utd didn't think so.
  14. Nonsense, for the reason outlined above.
  15. Because your post saying... "I remember the days when we signed Carillo and our geniuses on here insisted that if you exclude all these points he actually had a goal scoring record of a goal every other game. I see the same methodology is at play here 🤣" ...came shortly after my post pointing out the issue in using 26 games, 6 goals for Mara. So if you weren't talking about me, who were you talking about? The conversation previously was a different topic.
  16. Yet again you are taking my post out of the context of what it was a reply to and viewing it in isolation. My post was a reply to Tank saying '6 goals in 26 games'. 26 games of football = 2,340+ minutes, but he actually played under 900 minutes, so using '26 games' isn't the best reflection of what he did.
  17. Look beyond the number of games as that isn't a true reflection. 6 goals in only 898 minutes of football is pretty impressive. Especially as many of those minutes are in short spells at the end of games for a relegated team.
  18. How do you know they 'seem fit'? The club said the reason they stayed in England rather than goto Austria was because they needed extra work. The club could be playing with the truth, but we don't know.
  19. If it was an office job with a contract until 30th June and you finished work at 5pm on 30th June would you get paid anything else for the time from 5pm to midnight? No Footballers aren't even doing any work on 30th June. It is their holiday time! This is all very silly! 😁😇
  20. The contracts make no mention of time, simply the date.
  21. Player contracts in England end on 30th June each year. Not 1st July.
