  2. Barry Hayles cost £2m I think when Fulham were big spenders 10 years ago. But this year in League One no-one has spent more than 500k on a player so this deal smashes that.
  3. Did you watch the same game as me?
  4. No there isn't.
  5. I didn't say that. Just he seems to have good a little overboard with the "shocking team". If you give them the 30 points back they would have been mid table.
  6. You do realise they had -30 points don't you?
  7. Considering the average attendance in this league for all clubs last season was about 8k I don't think we are doing too badly.
  8. Program the Satnav on that monster to the Pompey players car park
  9. Lovely
  10. Of course it does
  11. We are spending money. Established Championship players like Murty, Jaidi and Harding don't come cheap. They will be on big wages and signing on fees relative to League One. Established Prem/Championship managers like Pardew and his backroom staff don't come cheap. Keeping Kelvin Davis in League One rather than the Premiership doesn't come cheap. Nor does offering Stern John a contract. NO other League One side could compete with us to get all four of them and most would love to have them.
  12. Nearly forgot that. So added it at the end cheers Anyone that thinks Mr Liebherr hasn't shown any "intent" yet is just wrong. For a League One side they have made a firm inprint already with those 3 signings and Pardew. Those are 4 of the biggest moves in League One so far. Thats what you should base it on League One movement, not Championship or Premiership because we are not there (yet).
  13. Not many clubs(if any at all!) in League One could afford Graeme Murty, Dan Harding and Raidi Jaidi's wages and signing on fees. All are established Championship players. Free transfer doesn't mean there are no costs! Every club in this league would love to have got those three players. Mr Liebherr has also allowed us to stop Kelvin Davis going to the Premiership and kept Joseph Mills at the club and allowed us to at the very least offer Stern John a contract(ok he rejected but we have the finance to consider keeping him - no one else in this league could). Finally Alan Pardew has by far the best CV and highest profile of any manager in League One.
  14. Saints won't be on until a little after 6:45pm though
  15. I meant in the context he used it in of course.

That clearly isn't true. No chance it would have been bigger than Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and a number of others.
  17. It was on the OS at 7:00 am this morning It had a thread on here at 7:00 am and 1 second this morning

How did Harry get the media to forget that he took Southampton down in 20th place?
  19. I'm sure there is likely to be more than one person called Matthew working at Charlton player or staff, so to say it is 110% Matthew Holland is stretching it.
  20. I know 100% that 110% is impossible.
  21. From what I've seen they like him. Played over 30 league games for a team promoted to the Prem last season. Released him as he doesn't have enough pace for the Premiership, that shouldn't be as much of a problem in League One and he should win every header
  22. Anyone can write and edit whatever they want on Wiki. The least reliable source ever
  23. All people stating things like this miss the point why football clubs offer student discounts. It similar to what banks do. Every high street bank tries tempting students to take up their student accounts in the hope that these future big money earners will be future customers and spend money at the club for years to come. Saints have made the mistake in thinking that Southampton supporting students only go to local universities when that isn't the case and most have to travel long distances at great cost if they want to see a game.
