So British bidders don't have international contacts!? Most super wealthy people have business connections on a global scale. "International" bidders only have one country as well, so both a local and foreign investment from your logic still has over 200 countries untouched.

Why would it matter if we had 20m from abroad or 20m from Britain? Money is money! Why do you want an international bid so much? Really doesn't matter where they are from if both deals offered equal money!

Did you not read this part of the article? He has clearly been offered in principle a contract which will be signed by both parties once a takeover has occured. I would imagine the same has been done with a number of other players.
