  1. No it isn't. They simply were not playing in a 541 shape. S.Armstrong and Elyounoussi were both playing as number 10s behind a lone striker. There are no number ten roles in a 541 formation.
  2. We were discussing places in the table as things stood at the time of the post.
  3. Neither of them! S.Armstrong and Elyounoussi were playing in the two roles behind a lone striker in a 3421 formation.
  4. He isn't good enough. Very much on the decline and has just joined Rooney at DC United...
  5. Saints have not played that formation in pre-season or in either league game.
  6. More than just Everton. Saints are also currently above Man Utd, Palace, Forest and West Ham.
  7. Some of you need to wait until fulltime in a game! The contrast between playing 3421 formation in the first half and switching to 4222 in the second half was huge! So much easier for Saints to use a high press with the 4222. Hopefully we stick with it for a while!
  8. Don't view it as 5 at the back then. View it as 3421.
  9. Nominative determinism... Alex Crook...
  10. He played in the game last week vs Spurs. I'd guess he is injured again.
  11. Look at as a 3 at the back then
  12. I'd guess Perraud is injured again, so no we don't have a better option as we don't have another decent right wing back to allow Walker-Peters to move over to the left.
  13. I'd guess he is playing as a number 10 along with Stuart Armstrong in a 3421 formation behind Adams.

  16. All they do is copy and paste from other sources. They do not claim to be the source and they credit where they got it from.
  17. September 2020... https://theathletic.com/news/exclusive-jack-stephens-agrees-new-long-term-southampton-contract/bo8LfBeiblPj/
  18. Jack Stephens did not sign his contract extension recently. It was in September 2020, a lot can change in nearly 2 years.
  19. Would you walk away from millions of pounds in wages/payout?
