Players you would sign from relegated teams....
Matthew Le God replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
I'm not saying it is nonsense that Mings claims that is the reason. I'm saying that the claim is nonsense. There is a difference! -

This is nonsense. He was in the same cohort as a number of tiny players that the club kept, so height was clearly not the reason. -

Harrison Reed might get a chance at 25 years old -

Which point are you disagreeing with? Because the key part of my post is that players like Ake would cost too much. He would be upwards of £40m! A more sensible approach would be to buy someone like Salisu and develop him. -

The few Norwich, Bournemouth, Villa, Watford, West Ham players that are good enough to improve us would also likely be too expensive in transfer fee. Better value to be had looking abroad. -
Harrison Reed - Official: Signs for Fulham
Matthew Le God replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
I haven't really seen enough of Reed recently to know if he has improved to the level we need. But in the Fulham games I have seen on TV recently he has performed extremely well for one of the best teams in that league. Signing another player blocks pathways for Jankewitz and Smallbone. If Reed is considered good enough we can use Ward-Prowse, Reed & Romeu and develop Smallbone and Jankewitz. That gives a good mix of experience and youth. -

Are you sure? He has been extremely impressive recently from the few Fulham games I've seen on TV. Have you considered he may have now have improved to a level he could be useful for us? -

Harrison Reed is older than Hojbjerg! He is 25 years old and has a lot of 1st team games in the last 3 seasons under his belt now. -
In order to do that you'd still need to finish above Palace. Catching Burnley will be tricky, but a Palace win today would have put them above us.
-
Why do you want Palace to win?! I'd rather Saints finish higher!

You rang m'lord?

Ancelotti is in for a shock if he still thinks he can get Everton challenging for the Champions League any time soon!
-
If they lost to Liverpool they'd only be 5 points ahead. That is catchable.
-
I'd rather Burnley didn't move a point further away from Saints. They are still catchable, even more so if they lost to Liverpool.
-
Ribbed, stripes or with a sash?
-
That is a non sequitur. Plus in any case, Man City also press high up the pitch.
-
Phil Foden is the replacement for David Silva. If Man City really do want Hojbjerg it would be to eventually replace 35 year old Fernandinho. Hojbjerg is getting a lot of stick on this forum, but for the role he plays he is very effective. Among the best ball winning stats for central midfielders in the league.

How does making up a story in the Daily Record that Man City want a him make any difference to a multi million pound transaction?
-
Given Hasenhuttl last month signed a new contract it would be very surprising for him to leave this summer
-
There was a gap between Lambert leaving in 2014 and Ward-Prowse being first choice for penalties. Tadic for a spell was 1st choice for example.
-
Which report said that?

Every season every club wears the away kit in games when the don't need to for kit clashes. They do so because they want to use them in a reasonable number of games in order to get people to buy them.
-
These are all Celtic home kits... They ditched their 'traditional' stripes for hoops, then over time hoops became the 'tradition'. For 55 years Southampton's 'traditional' kit was blue shorts and blue socks! Could you imagine the reaction if we had Saints Web in the 1950s when Saints gave up their traditional blue shorts and blue socks!?

Getting to the Stadium when home games are back on.

Not where the Avenue goes through the Common it didn't (as Google maps shows). That part of the road didn't have dotted lines down the middle of each side and now has cycle lanes narrowing the road. They have also reduced the speed limit from 40 to 30. -

It wasn't duel carriagway before, it was just a very wide road they've made narrower with cycle lanes.
