  1. We were 3 points from the Champions League as recently as 2016.
  2. Saints reportedly offered Koeman £86,000 per week in 2016. That is not a small offer.
  3. Apparently West Ham are paying him £192,000 per week. Do you honestly think he worth paying that? https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/west-ham-united-manuel-pellegrini-10m-per-year-salary-a8361586.html
  4. Every year every club releases academy products who then goto Football League clubs. It doesn't mean the academy is struggling. The quality bar to break into a Premier League first time is extremely high.
  5. If it is announced in 6 weeks time then I'd agree it is a complete **** up.
  6. Both parties want it to happen, but both parties want the best deal possible for themselves and that isn't done instantaneously. If it is announced last week or this week it makes no difference to pre-season.
  7. The link with Ajax is odd, Saints can blow them out of the water for wages. Hard to see how they could afford Tadic. 2016/17 Ajax wage bill = £35m Saints wage bill = £112m
  8. Can you outline some actions the FA have taken to achieve that?
  9. He sent the photo, to my surprise it appears genuine! He hasn't sent me anything, he is bull****ting!
  10. If £20m is to other staff, that would still allow 22 players to be paid £80,000 per week.
  11. A man who signed a contract until 30th June 2018 and very likely to be the longer term manager. So the club will be discussing all kinds of things with him for what he wants in place.
  12. £112m wage bill is enough for 27 people to be on £80k p/w.
  13. Safe standing has lot of places to attach it. Plus it also can be turned back into seating... It is hard to see how anyone can object to standing like that. Every single row has a bar in front of it, people cannot be crushed forward with lots of people behind them as the bars get in the way.
  14. An example of such a manager? Hughes has achieved many league finishes Saints would be happy with, what is the problem with that as experience?
  15. Who said "really good"? Also Hughes didn't have as many good players to work with compared with Saints from 2013 to 2017.
  16. Les Reed is not the chief executive officer, so appointing Purslow would not be replacing Reed.
  17. What makes you think Hughes didn't have a say? Hughes is clearly going to be our manager and the club will be talking to him about all kinds of things, including players he wants and doesn't want.
  18. I don't think that accurately depicts Hughes at Stoke... 2013/14 - 9th 2014/15 - 9th 2015/16 - 9th 2016/17 - 13th 2017/18 - sacked whilst struggling 9th three years in a row with Stoke is pretty good going tbf to him.
  19. Saints have among the highest wagebills in European football at £112m in 2016/17 season. Saints are not cheap on wages.
  20. It is still a leap to take it as true. It isn't difficult to make up something plausible, internet football forums are full of plausible bull**** rumours.
  21. The club have made no announcement (yet) on players with contracts due to expire on 30th June 2018. Last year Saints made the announcement on 25th May ... https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-05-25/southampton-2017-retained-list-players-released What you saw was most likely a list of players that are out of contract this summer, possibly something like this... http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11662/11375877/out-of-contract-premier-league-players-who-could-leave-for-free-this-summer Just because they are out of contract doesn't mean they won't be offered one.
  22. Hughes is clearly going to be the manager, included in the discussions he has been having for the past week will be budgets, players, plans etc etc. We aren't going to suffer from appointing Hughes today/tomorrow vs last week.
  23. Yes, they would be given two years. But another hole in the law is Brentford have been excused putting seats in the two year timeframe as they are moving to a new stadium. It is a very inconsistent law.
  24. To think Alderweireld is a realistic target is not being ambitious... it is being as mad as a box of frogs! If he leaves Spurs it will be for another Champions League club and bigger wages than he is currently on.
  25. Can you explain exactly how him being appointed last week vs tonight/tomorrow impacts each of the following you mentioned... 1) Season ticket sales 2) Players futures 3) Potential transfers ................ 1) If anyone was making season ticket choices mbased on the manager, then all they'd do is buy one this week when he is appointed... so how has the club lost out? 2) Player futures would all have been discussed with Hughes during the negotiations... so how has the club lost out? 2) Potential transfers would all have been discussed with Hughes during the negotiations... so how has the club lost out?
