I did not say we did.

£22m isn't a particularly big fee for the PL in 2025. Assists can be a flawed stat to judge someone on. A one yard pass can be an assist. Coming off you backside can be an assist. Plus sometimes a pass or dribble before the assist is the key part in the build up to a goal.

With Hassenhüttl!

We won't be in the PL next season. So why are his struggles at that level relevant to next season? In the Championship he is prolific. Having him in the Championship squad will be very useful. The time to sell him isn't this summer, it is after a promotion.
-
I didn't say Smallbone should be a first choice starter. But he is fine as squad filler for a promotion chasing Championship team. The issue is once promotion is achieved he needs to be upgraded and we didn't do that this time.
-
Can you honestly keep a straight face and say a player who scored 24 Championship goals last season is 'really crap' when playing in the Championship? Because that is utter nonsense! We do not need him to be PL quality next season. We need top level Championship quality... which he demonstrably is... over multiple seasons. Similar applies to many other players in our squad.

We didn't... that has been the problem! I'm suggesting what we should do next time we get a promotion! We don't need to shift players like Arsmrong now. They are good enough to do very well in the Championship next season. He scored 24 league goals! What we should do is shift them after the promotion!

Armstrong was the 2nd top scorer in the league with 24 goals. Why would you let that go ahead of another Championship season a mere year later?
-
They do based on their performances at that level. Armstrong is a prolific goalscorer in that league, Smallbone a top player in that league. Sure, they aren't up to it in the PL, but we don't need them for that next season. Replacements can be signed after any future potential promotion.

We will be in the Championship next season, why wouldn't you want him in a Championship squad? He scored 24 goals at that level last season.

That didn't happen.

Comments like that lead to you meeting HR in the first place!

Welington is not currently injured, but he missed the final eight games of the season with a hamstring injury. He needs gametime more than Alcaraz did.
-
-
How do you know where they view him in the pecking order? He hadn't played for a month and needs gametime.
-
He played for the u21s because he had a hamstring injury and he needs to get up to speed.
-
Welington is not injured. He played for the u21s last week.

It was a tactical mess before Martinball under Jones and Selles which didn't help.
-
Do you think he was suited to the slow possession football Martin used? I don't.
