To you, Lens players, to you, Bollaert… It's time for me to turn the page and leave the club. It's never easy to make this kind of decision, especially when you're lucky enough to work in such a passionate environment, with such dedicated and warm people. This season has been anything but linear. A rollercoaster season, with its storms, changes of plans, lulls, and suspended moments. We suffered, doubted, but never gave up. And together, we finally accomplished something great: finishing 8th with one point more than last season. I have always moved forward with honesty, with integrity, without ever cheating, either myself or you. And I will continue to do so, wherever I am. Going home doesn't mean I stop living and working; I simply want to be able to do so in a more controlled environment and alongside my loved ones for now. Lens isn't leaving me. I will return. For singing, filming, and feeling the vibe of Les Corons, this song will always resonate with me. I would like to thank the President, Joseph, Pierre and Jean Louis, Benjamin, Hugo, the sports management, and everyone who works within the club. The entire staff, Ed and Nico, but also, of course, the group of players. And you, the supporters, are the soul of this club. Despite everything that has happened, personally or professionally, you have always been there for the team, for me, unconditionally, in misfortune or glory. Bollaert is something we never forget. I leave with many strong memories, and the pride of having been part, even for a moment, of the Sang et Or family ❤️💛 Will

By the demonstrable fact that the vast majority of players that play for under 20 international teams acrcross Europe do not end up having long top flight careers in major leagues.
-
We might struggle to sell BBD now!
-
I'd rather Leicester take the bullet and hamstring themselves with MartinBall, transfer embargo and a points deduction!
-
They are better teams as well. For example, compare the Marseille or Monaco teams this season to all the Championship squads.
-
International under 20 football is a long way below the standard of the Premier League and Championship. Lots of players in international under 20 teams don't have great careers.
-
When exactly?
-
Mara has 1 goal in 25 league games for Strasbourg.
-
So could appointing any manager! Some appear to think Still has been managing a French pub team for 1 year. He has been around the pro game for 10+ years, including three years in a strong league. Facing Monaco, Marsaille, PSG, Lyon, Nice etc is tougher than anything he'll face next season in the Championship!
-
PSG being better than the rest doesn't make the rest of the league worse than the Championship. Marseille, Monaco, Lyon, Lille, Nice, Lens etc are all bigger than most Championship clubs.
-
He has been a manager in a major European league for 3 years and in backroom staff of professional teams for 10+ years including as an assistant. A league that is ranked higher than the Championship.
-
UEFA rank them! ffs
-
Why is that funny?
-
He missed Mark Wotte and, more notably, Ronald Koeman!
-
What makes it a 'pointless gamble'? He has managed in the 5th best league in Europe for the past 3 seasons and we will be in a lower quality league. It isn't a case of 'this time' for the person picking the manager, as this is Johannes Spors first Saints manager pick.
-
Leicester have not announced they have sacked van Nistelrooy, and so haven't had a need to announce a replacement.
-
He has managed in the 5th best league in European football for the last 3 seasons. Is it really an 'experiment' to hire him for a worse league?
-
He posted it today.

If Sheff United win, the only parachute payment teams in 2025/26 Championship will be Saints, Leicester and Ipswich. The fewer the better for Saints!

Saints 1-2 Arsenal - Thank F**k it’s All Over Thread
Matthew Le God replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
We weren't overly defensive, considering the quality of the opponent. Saints had 41% possession, Saints had 8 corners to Arsenal's 4, Saints had 14 shots on goal to Arsenal's 12. -
BBC journalist says...

Hopefully! As the transfer window opens in roughly 1 week!

I wasn't "scooped". I saw that he had described what the Telegraph journalist has said, but he hadn't included the post itself. So to be helpful to others on the forum I linked to the source. I was adding to what was already there for the benefit of the forum. Perhaps you could try it?
-
Time for another Still update.
-
Bullshit. You will find I posted the tweet first so people could see the source of what he was saying because he didn't, he then edited his post to include it. I was being helpful, something you are not.
