  3. In terms Saints getting van Dijk, Celtic going out of the Champions League as early as possible would speed up any potential transfer. Even if they reach the group stage that doesn't mean they won't sell him this summer. If he helps them to the group stages Celtic benefit from both his transfer fee and also the Champions League group stage money. They want him to stay long enough for him to help them into the group stage. Quotes from him stating he wants to leave... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3119299/Virgil-van-Dijk-drops-bombshell-Celtic-Dutch-defender-says-wants-leave.html
  4. It was bull**** that he said he couldn't reveal his source. The information was already in the public domain on the Brighton forum and Brighton newspaper website at the time he created this thread. By making the following posts he was suggesting he had contacts feeding him info and couldn't reveal who they were...
  5. Yes, the English don't use "roster" for football teams, its "squad". The reverse is true here, using roster doesn't sound right. We invented the sport and language! Americans are butchering both!
  6. Why pick me up on that and not the thread starter who was trying to make out he was ITK? All I did was expose the bull****. .................. Expose bull**** = get petty childish insults thrown at you Create bull**** = feel free, go ahead, pretend to be "itk" The Saints Web way!
  7. Did you pick your spirit animal, or did it pick you?

  9. Was your source this thread on the Brighton forum that was posted 14 minutes before you created your thread? http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?324233-behind-closed-doors-friendly-against-Southampton-today Or the article in the Brighton paper it is based on and published at 5am this morning...? http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/13418792.Hughton_hails_the_shape_of_his_squad/
  10. None (actually some) taken.
  11. You've lost me. All I did is guess it would be for the under 21's, I don't think it was unreasonable to think that might be the case.
  12. He was sent off vs Inter Milan in February and his suspension is applied this season in Celtic's next European match...
  13. Why would they have to have photos taken at the stadium a week later? Jay Rodriguez for example had his photo done in the grounds of a hotel...
  14. I didn't say guaranteed, but in contract talks the player/agent will want to know where they fit into the manager's plans. Cork may have been offered a deal by Saints, but it wouldn't have been that of a player likely to start a lot of games. He was dropping down the pecking order, plus Saints have youngsters in central midfield they are bringing through.
  15. Saints didn't offer him a contract where he was likely to be first choice and a regular starter if everyone was fit. He did get that from Swansea.
  16. If he signs today or tomorrow I don't see why not. The game is 8 days away.
  17. Do you? I don't. Using what criteria do you think they are similar?
  18. Not sure why they think that, as he is left footed. Used play on the left (both left back and a few occasions on the left of midfield) but the club are now using him as a left sided centre back.
  19. If the game is happening, I think its likely to be an under 21 game for the players that won't be going to Holland on Friday.
  20. As its reported to be "behind closed doors", it doesn't really matter if its in Brighton as you won't be able to go.
  21. It would be pretty unusual for Premier League club first team to use trialists in pre-season. Why? For what reason would they need to announce it to the public?
  22. Perhaps Clyne, Wanyama and their agents didn't want to have 5 year contracts.
  23. Which days are you booking off? As we don't know when the away leg will be yet.
  24. I didn't say they wouldn't be. But Stephens will be 5th choice at best at the beginning of the season, so will have relatively little exposure due to his position in the pecking order.
  25. No, there is no need for anyone to bid higher than the release clause. If you match the release clause it is automatically accpeted and is then down to the player to decide if he wants to leave. This is a concept Pompey fans struggled with when Jed Wallace was sold.
