  1. Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 1m1 minute ago #SaintsFC are negotiating with Atletico Madrid over Toby Alderweireld & are understood to be fairly confident of getting him ahead of #THFC
  2. Shelvey scored 3 goals in 31 Premier League games last season.
  3. He is contracted to Southampton, its merely him doing as he should and turning up to work on a Monday morning. Ramirez might be used by Saints this season, but him turning up to work on a day he expected to isn't really a sign that he won't leave this summer.
  4. If it is a "trick" it has a fundamental flaw to it. If Man Utd really did want Clasie and signed him, they wouldn't need Schneiderlin and so Saints wouldn't sell him to United.
  5. What animosity was there towards Lambert? He got a very good reception on his return St Mary's.
  6. He could have got the date from this tweet from 5 hours before his article was published... Amy Lewis ‏@SkySportsAmy 8h8 hours ago Understand Man Utd bid for Schneiderlin 10 days ago (under £25m). Didn't meet Saints asking price & was rejected. Also told no contact since
  7. I suggest you read this... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supply_and_demand
  8. We'll be paying his wages (probably in full or close to it) plus paying Fulham a significant loan fee.
  9. What do your three options mean exactly? Also what makes you think we have no money to spend unless we sell players? We've already signed three players this summer and the club has posted large profits.

  11. Shaw had 4 years left on his contract compared to Clyne's 1 year. That makes a big difference to price.
  12. Koeman confirmed today the internationals won't feature in the Leipzig game.
  13. Everybody knows, Brendan loves mash potato!
  14. If you mean at 5:45 then that is Paulo Gazzaniga, not Osvaldo.
  15. The Mirror story in the opening post of this thread is 8 months old.
  16. 5 and especially 6 year contracts are pretty rare. They also require a player agreeing to it and if they think they are capable of getting a big transfer in the future they may not want to potentially restrict themselves 2 or 3 years later. Also from Saints point of view, if a signing doesn't work out and he is on a 6 year contract thats a huge financial commitment and may make him hard to shift out of the club.
  17. From that article... They have also in the past announced a succession plan was already in place, with Blind taking over in 2016. That will probably (hopefully) just be put into place early.
  18. He was in good company towards the top of the scoring charts... Ligue 1 2014/15 Ibrahimovic 19 Cavani 18 Gradel 17
  19. Last season he scored 17 league goals in 31 games of the French top league.
  20. I don't remember David Nugent as a 22 year old scoring 11 Premier League goals in a season.
  21. We had 20 players registered for the last list. There aren't any doubts about it, Long definitely counts as home gown for Saints. We named 20. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2014-15/sep/premier-league-squad-lists-2014-2015.html
  22. Yep, he did just that.
  23. Jack Stephens is an under 21 player for 2015/16.
