That isn't a question.

They've made by far the biggest investment ever made by owners in the history of the club. Sure they've made mistakes, but their heart appears in the right place and they have put a lot of money into the club. They are trying something new with the group of clubs which many are dismissive of, but should ultimately benefit Saints as all clubs in the group are built up. It gives work permit benefits, shared scouting and allows for rotation of players through the clubs depending on the point in their careers.

Not going to wait then before writing them off?
-
How about we wait and see how the new signings do over a decent sample size of games?

He is Goztepe chairman, but in this BBC interview with Russell Martin he mentions in the bit on Sekou Mara: βThere has been a lot of interest. I think one of the clubs has engaged in dialogue with Rasmus [Ankersen], so we will wait and see.β https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0jk2bhn So it seems he is back involved in Saints transfers both outgoing like Mara and also incoming possibly like Fernandes... https://x.com/AlfieHouseEcho/status/1826585540281708874

Justin Bijlow has said his goodbyes to Feyenoord and had his medical today and we now have news of a striker bid.
-
Russell Martin has confirmed Rasmus Ankersen is involved with our transfers this summer, both incoming and outgoing.
-
Regardless of it being a weaker league it still counters the non scoring striker description. He scores once every 3 games on average. Plus he was very young for many of those games.
-
78 goals in 241 games isn't a bad record. Roughly 1 goal every 3 games!
-
Why would Saints do that? If he is fit enough to play for a club on loan, he'd be fit enough to help Saints this season.
-
Poor tactics to use vs that particular opponent.
-
I think the players were doing as they were asked, the issue was what they were asked to do was destined for failure.
-
Pretty much! Was alot better vs Newcastle, even when 11v11.
-
The tactic in the first half when in possession was for Brereton Diaz and Armstrong to hug the touchlines. Then for Walker-Peters (as an inverted fullback moving into CM), Smallbone, Aribo and Downes to make a box in midfield to outnumber Forest in central areas and to draw out their centre back. The issue was none of our players ever managed to get into any threatening areas centrally to cause an issues and we we just passing it around in a big U shape lacking an idea of how to create chances!

I did say he only had 1 cap. Still makes him a senior Brazilian international player! π
-
He joined them the month before the Ukraine war started. Can't blame him for wanting out!
-
Senior Brazilian international (1 cap)
-
That would be preferable to passing it around in a U shape with Armstrong and Brereton Diaz hugging the touchline when we have the ball!
-
Lots of ifs and buts due to injuries and not playing in a top European league before. But I think a fit and firing Ross Stewart could possibly be that player. That suggestion is heavily caveated on the injury front! π
-
I'd be surprised if Alcaraz and Charles don't go. I also wouldn't rule out Bella-Kotchap going on a transfer rather than a loan. As well as Bijlow, Martin has also said he wants another attacking recruit. From his wording it suggests not just one for the future, but someone that can help straight away.
-
He was only on the pitch from the 84th minute... π

Exactly! @revolution saint does not understand context!
-
Like I said... you've misunderstood and taken out of context! 3 senior players for one role, plus a 4th player that is potentially promising youngster is good depth. That is not me saying Jankewitz is the next Kante or that he is ready to start games. Plus I've never claimed to be infallible. 17 years of FM data isn't going to come without getting a few players wrong. The vast majority have been right.

You have either taken what I said completely out of context, misunderstood it or have seen something someone else said and confused it for me. Plus even if I did say something about two players and got them wrong... so what? I have been the Southampton Football Manager researcher for 17 years and rated hundreds and hundreds of players, of course I'd get a few wrong.
