  1. Playing 433 With Ryan Manning in central midfield
  2. Sport Republic already own a French club, Valenciennes FC. They can't own another at the same time.
  3. It is hard to take the article seriously or credible when it says "Charles would be an ideal direct replacement for O'Riley". Shea Charles is a holding midfielder who sits in front of the defence. In no way is he even close to a 'direct replacement' for O'Riley. If they can't get the basics right, why trust them on anything? https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/celtic-transfer-news-oriley-charles-33357740
  4. Which of the other clubs listed in the Tweet play in the world's most high profile league, can offer him regular starts and have a bigger income and wage budget than Saints?
  5. This would be quite a coup if Saints managed to pull it off...! https://x.com/berger_pj/status/1817968297348067718?t=gyaDEDUAaR6cgGmvRtSPJQ&s=19
  6. A club standard 40% reduction in wage clause included in contracts does that. Like last time... https://x.com/TheAthleticFC/status/1657433490302877696
  7. This Sky documentary does that...
  8. Aaron Ramsdale and Sam Johnstone 'news'... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/29517729/aaron-ramsdale-nottingham-forest-loan-transfer-arsenal/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=sunfootballtwitter&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1722115462
  9. Depends if you think an article in the Sun counts as 'concrete' https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/29205868/aaron-ramsdale-arsenal-southampton-transfer-news/
  10. How have you worked that out? Any incoming loan keeper, for example Ramsdale could be our starting keeper.
  11. The Ipswich comments are strange, but he played over twice as many games for Leeds than he did for Saints so might have more affection for them.
  12. He was extremely effective playing on the right wing for the vast majority of last season in the 433 formation. He was not playing centrally for the vast majority of the season. So last season that made him an effective and productive... winger.
  13. Adam Armstrong played the vast majority of last season there and was a lot more effective there than he was as a central striker.
  14. Bitcoin (I don't get paid either)
  15. Can anyone help me find the date the following players first signed a professional contract in their careers? A link to a reliable source is needed. Adam Lallana Carlos Alcaraz Charlie Taylor Jan Bednarek Kyle Walker-Peters Mateusz Lis Paul Onuachu Yukinari Sugawara Any help very much appreciated! 🙂
  16. Ferrari? More like Jeremy Clarkson's Fiat Panda stretched limo!
  17. They are pre planned subs, not injuries. It is the first friendly of the summer on a hot day, so players won't get many minutes. https://x.com/SouthamptonFC/status/1814364968076136862
  18. Adam Armstrong spent the vast majority of last season out wide, he only occasionally played as the central striker. The central striker role in 2024/25 will probably be a 'Che Adams replacement', Ross Stewart, Sekou Mara or Adam Armstrong (occasionally).
  19. Staff and players leaving for higher paid jobs and/or promotions at some of the biggest clubs in the world does not mean there is something wrong at Saints. We simply can not compete when clubs like Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs etc make job offers for our staff. In the same way we do exactly the same to other clubs that we've got staff from who are less wealthy than Saints. It is better to have player and staff that higher profile and richer clubs want, rather than to plod along with staff and players richer clubs do not want.
  20. We've apparently paid £100k p/w before for a player. So wouldn't need much subsidising from Arsenal to reach £120k p/w for Ramsdale. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/15963411/james-ward-prowse-southampton-top-earner/#:~:text=WARD-PRICE-,James Ward-Prowse becomes Southampton's top earner with historic £,still leave for right price&text=JAMES WARD-PROWSE has reportedly,on £100%2C000 a-week.
  21. I very much doubt that'll happen. Shea Charles is the backup to Downes.
  22. Spent circa £140m in our last Premier League season
  23. In 2 seasons time "To assist clubs with their transition away from shirt-front gambling sponsorship, the collective agreement will begin at the end of the 2025/26 season." https://www.premierleague.com/news/3147426
