  1. All I said was moving from Crawley in League One to Pompey in League Two is a career progression, even if the latter is in the lower league. Barker would get a higher wage, a higher player budget to work with, bigger crowds, better stadium, better youth setup than he did at Crawley. Yes, the Pompey Trust are a disaster of infighting waiting to happen, but it is hard to say Crawley to Pompey on the face of it isn't a good move for Barker even if it probably will end in tears.
  2. For similar reasons Nigel Adkins left Championship S****horpe to drop a league to join Saints in League One and Simon Grayson left Championship Blackpool and dropped a league to join League One Leeds. Yes, there are many delusional things said by Pompey players/owners/fanbase, but it would be foolish for any of us to deny that dropping a league from Crawley in League One to Pompey in League Two is still a good career move (in theory). Pompey are basically a mid to small Championship sized club with their current infrastructure and fanbase. They have delusions of being more than that, but are still bigger than every League One/Two club apart from Wolves and Sheffield United.
  3. No, it is for players eligible for the under 18's in 2013/14 only. 3 overage outfield "reserves needing match fitness" and one overage keeper can play for the under 21 development side in league games.
  4. It is the under 18's.
  5. I want to engage with Micah "engagement is my middle name" Hall, but I have a feeling the quips and questions I want to use and ask will lead to him blocking me as he is a bit tetchy tonight.
  6. Verisona Law aren't getting much exposure this season... We should all club together and give Steve Grant the money for Saints Web Forum to sponsor red cards (ideally Pompey ones) and opposition goals on the big screen at Fratton Park. Would they turn down our money even if they knew it was a ****take and had to put "sponsored by Saints Web Forum" on the big screen?
  7. This is what its like to be Pompey, This is what its like to be poor, You SACK Whittingham, We sign Pochettino, Pochettino, Pochettino!
  8. That is different from saying you are "Looking forward to being around midtable again". Why would you look forward to that? You then go on to say you are looking forward to it because it will "shut the idiots up that talk about 4th". Can you not see why that is a strange logical standpoint and extremely negative?
  9. Strange logic to that. Would it not be better to remain at the top and all these "idiots" be shown to be right?
  10. FIFA Manager 2014 is going to be the last in the series... http://www.fifa-manager.com/home/blog/blog-article/n/News/show/offener-brief-von-gerald/ Potentially Sports Interactive/SEGA could get the English Premier League licenses (and all the other exclusives they have) in the future from EA for Football Manager 2015 onwards.
  11. I meant in the analysis after the game. They completely ignored it. It was the 2nd game of the show (which gives them more time) and they ignore the 2nd of the two goals in the analysis.
  12. I've just watched it again, no mention of the penalty.
  13. Did they make any reference to Hooiveld being fouled at the same time? How can the ref come down on one side when both sides were fouling each other at the same time?
  14. Alan Hansen and his insight into Boruc being left footed is nonsense.
  15. At the same time Fonte was tugging an Arsenal player, Giroud was tugging Hooiveld's shirt only yards away. Both Saints and Arsenal players were fouling each other near the ball at the same time yet the ref gives it to Arsenal and MOTD completely ignores the penalty. Odd that...
  16. I hope for your own sake you aren't being serious.
  17. The drop in quality from Lovren to Hooiveld is bigger than most changes we can make (Shaw and Boruc the other big ones). For example you'd be less worried if Lambert had to be replaced by Osvaldo. I'm not saying we can't get a result today, but it has now become a lot more difficult after our ever present centre back partnership has just been split up.
  18. Saints don't use the term "head scout", on the Southampton F.C. website the scouting and recruitment department is listed as... Senior Recruitment Officer Bill Green Scouting & Recruitment Manager Paul Mitchell Performance Analyst (Academy) Natasha Patel Research Analyst (Recruitment) Ian Torrance Research Analyst (Performance) Scott Waters Scouting Administrator Victoria Spensley Performance Analyst Tom Stockwell Youth Recruitment Officer Rod Ruddick Academy Recruitment Scout Chris Welman Bath Academy Recruitment Co-ordinator Stewart Naughton Head Analyst Andrew Stone http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/team/academy-staff/
  19. I finished 4th in 2014/15 but Man City won the Champions League so I miss out...
  20. The BBC are reporting what John Cross has said here... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-v-chile-southampton-duo-2794649
  21. You may be thinking about the Olympic football under 23 competition that allows three over 23 year old players. To play for England under 21's in the Euro's and the Euro Qualifiers you have to be under 21 by a certain date near to the start of the qualifying matches. The last England under 21 game Clyne was able to play in was England's miserable campaign during the summer.
  22. He is now too old to play for England Under 21's.
  23. Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 2h Uruguay are about to play the first leg of their #WCQ play-off against Jordan in Amman. #SaintsFC’s @gasramirez10 starts on the bench.
