  1. Cody Cropper Saints already have a 1st team keeper coach, an under 21 keeper coach and youth team keeper coaches. Why would Kelvin give up 2 1/2 years of a Premier League player wage to be a coach?
  2. The free demo and an updated version of the beta is now on Steam. You will need to have downloaded Steam and created an account - if you haven't done that yet, you can do so here... http://store.steampowered.com/about/ Once you've launched and logged into Steam... 1. In the search bar, type Football Manager 2014 Demo 2. On the right hand side click the 'DOWNLOAD DEMO' button (you may need to scroll down to see this) 3. Follow the instructions to complete the download The Demo lasts for 6 in-game months and, as with the Beta, you can carry on your save when you have the full game.
  3. About anything in particular?
  4. They might take Derby County's record of 11 points in 2007/08 at this rate.
  5. But unlike the actual league table it projects what things might be like at the finish, using previous data of similar events last year to fill in the blanks of the remaining 29 games in combination with what we know from the opening 9 games. All harmless fun. Cheer up.
  6. Well its a projection based on similar data from last season. I think it is quite a good projection and becomes more accurate with each result. Hence the "rolling" part of the thread title.
  7. They got 89 points in 2012/13, they are -8 points down on the corresponding fixtures in 2013/14. Which gives them a projection of 81 points. Saints on the other hand had 41 points in 2012/13 and have 14 more points in 2013/14 from corresponding fixtures so their current projection is for 55 points.
  8. How does a "rolling league table" work? - Take the nine 2013/14 games played for Saints so far. - Look at how they compare with the corresponding games in 2012/13. - For example Saints lost at Liverpool last season 1-0, but this year Saints won at Anfield so Saints are given +3 points. - Add all them up and Saints are +14 points better off this season than from the 9 corresponding games last season. What about the promoted/relegated teams? - You swap the results of the promoted sides with that of last seasons relegated sides. - Swapping Wigan for Cardiff, Reading for Hull and QPR for Palace How does the projection part work? - Man Utd got 89 points in 2012/13, they are -8 points down on the corresponding fixtures in 2013/14. Which gives them a projection of 81 points. - Saints had 41 points in 2012/13, they are +14 points up on the corresponding fixtures in 2013/14. Which gives them a projection of 55 points. Although it has its flaws as a projection, I quite like it and as the season progresses the projection should become more accurate after each game.
  9. I bet no-one can watch this and not smile... "Who's a naughty boy?!" Should've been a red card really, still funny though. But not as funny as Scott Parker walking Berbatov to Lambert, telling him to mark him from the corner and then Berbatov leaving Lambert free to score seconds later!
  10. Perhaps they miss the key point to an academy, creating players for the first team. Instead they might be concentrating on a good team unit that does well in youth leagues/cups without having any outstanding individuals that can progress into the first team like Saints do.
  11. She isn't his replacement, she doesn't work with the first team like Nick Harvey did.
  12. What do you mean by that? It was just the standard pre-match press conference Saints have before every league or cup game.
  13. Guy Whittingham unaware that Sonny Bradley's suspension after picking up a 5th booking will still count. http://audioboo.fm/boos/1678936 I'd like to see him name Bradley in the team for Saturday!
  14. I'd bet Cortese already has an idea who he'd want to replace him if he either sacked Pochettino or if Pochettino left.
  15. What Rodgers did at Swansea and Moyes did at Everton was impressive considering their resources.
  16. Which teams can offer Pochettino better than he has at Saints and would be more appealing to him when you take all these factors into consideration? - Stadium (and potential expansion) - Training ground - Quality of the academy - Current 1st team - Money to spend in transfer market In England its just... Man Utd Man City Liverpool Chelsea Arsenal Spurs I don't see how the likes of Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle even though they would be considered as bigger clubs would offer Pochettino more in terms of the factors I listed. The number of teams that offer more to Pochettino in Europe in Italy, Germany, France and Spain isn't huge in number. Plus there is the Argentinian national job. For Pochettino to goto any of those clubs or the Argentinean national job he'd have to achieve something with Saints first.
  17. tbf to him what he actually said is correct. When Saints produced Bale, Walcott and Chamberlain we didn't really have any of those things (could argue the youth coaches at the time were very good). I'd guess this guy also thinks the same now and that is when he'd be wrong on all counts.
  18. I was confident of a win vs Crystal Palace. Weren't you?
  19. With Chelsea, Man City & Spurs all playing next Sunday: a win for Saints vs Fulham will guarantee them to be at least 3rd in the table on Saturday evening and depending on how Liverpool do Saints could be 2nd.

    Osvaldo

He didn't have a great game today, but he was the 3rd top scorer in Serie A last season and is an Italian international striker. Some of the comments in the match thread today were ridiculous. He is clearly a quality player based on his previous record and what we've seen of him in the few games he has had for Saints.
  22. The demo isn't out yet, as Tokyo-Saint says when it is out it'll be on Steam.
  23. Yep, the Lyon researcher reduced him in the summer. But if he continues performing as he has for Saints so far he'll be getting a boost for the January update. But as I said a lot more Saints players got an increase than those that were decreased.
