  1. 17th Wigan 31 points - 8 games to play ....................................... 18th Aston Villa 30 points - 7 games to play Last game of the season sees Wigan vs Villa, so points will be lost somewhere from that game. It won't need 40 points to stay up this season, even if Villa and Wigan go on amazing runs all the other sides below 12th place Saints won't as they will be taking points off each other.
  2. That "FACT" was about teams in the bottom 3 at the time of the sacking. Sunderland are not currently in the bottom 3. Although given their dreadful form, upcoming fixture list and season ending injuries to their captain and top scorer they could well be soon!
  3. The sooner it happens, the more likely the -10 will be applied next season.
  4. Well that doesn't always happen in fact I've never seen that happen before. So hardly my fault. In any case I've edited the original post and all the pictures should now show.
  5. What are you talking about? All the images show for me.

  7. 1) Before Christmas all the category academies were in 3 leagues. 2) After Christmas, the top 3rd from each league from before Christmas all went into the top league, the middle 3rd into a league and the bottom 3rd into a league. The top 3 teams in the post Christmas top league all go into the semi finals, the top team in the middle league and the top team in the bottom league have a playoff for the last semi final spot againt the winner of the elite league. Hope that makes sense! Southampton and Man Utd were the only clubs to reach the elite stage group of both the category one under 18's and under 21's.
  8. The QPR performance wasn't awful, Saints dominated the game and had over 3x as many chances as QPR (17 to 5). Poor finishing let us down, like it also did in the Norwich game.
  9. Not that again! I love being "itk"
  10. Someone employed by Plymouth Argyle told me. Plus, I was the one that broke the "news" he was going to sign for us 5 months before it happened... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?34280-Sam-Gallagher-Plymouth-Argyle-youth-player-to-sign-for-Saints
  11. Yes he did, admittedly not a lot... £75,000 up front £50,000 on 17th birthday £15,000 after first game £50,000 after 10 games £50,000 after 20 games £50,000 after 30 games £50,000 if he appears for England £25,000 if he appears for Scotland 15% of profit sell on clause
  12. 19 days ago he signed a new 3-year deal at Saints.
  13. We should all want Saints to do as well as possible. Not restrain our success because it would "change the club and fan-base completely". We had daft people saying they'd prefer not to be promoted and stay in the Championship, I find it bizarre people wishing Saints not to win games and succeeding. So what? Yes, it would bring alot more "plastics", but I and every other Saints fan should want to see Saints do the best they possibly can.
  14. They can't work out percentages ffs! Winning 67 out of 124 games is not 46% it is 54%.
  15. How many games have you seen him play to judge this 22 year old international "****"? He was the golden boot winner at the 2012 African Cup of Nations and played for the side that won the tournament, he also turned the game towards Saints vs. Tottenham at St Mary's and looked very useful. Yes, he has only had cameo appearances but I wouldn't be so quick to write him off as you seem to be! Same applies for Vegard Forren.
  16. Umm.. you are the one complaining of the quality of players and saying we are in a relegation fight! All I did was point out to you that the players we signed that you are complaining about have taken a newly promoted side to closer to 11th place than 17th place after 30 games.
  17. He has been playing right back recently for both Saints under 21's and England under 19's.
  18. The players we signed last summer have played a key role in getting us closer to 11th place than the relegation zone after 30 Premier League games.
  19. Are you aware how tight the league table is and Saints are actually closer to 11th place than the relegation zone. Isn't that good for a newly promoted side and maybe the player purchases this season aren't doing as badly as you make out?
  20. He is a square peg in a square hole. Saints play a 4-2-3-1 system, Ramirez is a quality creative midfielder, 22 year old, Uruguayan international that is ideal for the number 10 role in such a formation. If we continue to sign players for relegation battles, thats were we'll stay.
  21. So you think Ramirez should start home games? Weren't you advocating him not being signed?
  22. Given we signed him for £2m and Crystal Palace have a sell on clause %, £7m would give Saints next to no profit for a player that could be England's right back in years to come. If he did go, it'll be for a lot more than £7m. I don't think Cortese would let him go easily either.
  23. Care to elaborate on that a little?
  24. So to be in relegation battle it is best to do without players with quality like Ramirez clearly has? Bizarre logic to that. To be in a relegation fight you have to buy ****ter players? Really? I'm glad you aren't running the club!!! Ramirez helps Saints win games that should lead to them being safe from relegation. He is not an "ego signing" by Cortese, he is a signing of real quality that improves the quality of the team. Without him we'd have less of a chance of opening teams up.
