Yes I know results like that would make promotion 99.99% likely to happen, but the point is it is 99.99% and not 100%. You asked the question when are we going up, and no (p) will be next to Saints on any official League table until Monday at the earliest. Yes, I know it is pointing out the obvious, but as we saw from Q.P.R., they aren't celebrating promotion properly yet and nor will Saints until officially confirmed.

Adkin's toolbox - how to get out of the NPC
Matthew Le God replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Saints
I think you need to look at some Premier League tables over the last decade and you will see a number of teams without huge investment coming 5th to 10th. Including Saints under the stewardship of "big spending" Rupert Lowe. Saints now for the first time in 125 years have an owner with money and willing to invest. -
Officially it won't be this weekend, no matter what happens at Griffin Park and the Withdean. Yes, it could be pretty much up barring a monumental goal difference swing, but you won't see a (p) on any League One table next to Saints until Monday at the earliest.

Both Plymouth and Brentford are his former clubs. He was at Plymouth longer than he was at Brentford, he failed to make it at Plymouth but did at Brentford.

Adkin's toolbox - how to get out of the NPC

Bizarre logic to that. Firstly, what makes you think Saints would be beaten week in, week out in the Premier League? Cortese has said in interview the money is there to compete in the Premier League and not to struggle. Secondly, have you forgotten that even if Saints did go up to the Premier League and get relegated straight away, they would then get £48 million of parachute payments to help them get promoted again and strengthen the club. Basically you are wanting Saints to not succeed next season and be beaten by teams in the Championship so to not get promoted. Which is odd. -
In Prime Minister's question today a Lib Dem MP asked David Cameron to stand aside for David Davis, as he would have come second under first past the post. Thoughts Dune...?

Apart from British law.
-
People are getting their fun because they know they shouldn't be doing it and get a buzz from that, so it absolutely has something to do with breaking the law. In the event of Saints being promoted I will enjoy celebrating from my seat in the Kingsland and then I will go to the pub and celebrate some more, I have no need or desire to go anywhere near the pitch as it adds nothing to the celebration.
-
It is an act that is against the law. Why is it "boring" to not get your thrills from breaking the law? You will just delay any lap of honour that the players do, or even cause it not to happen at all.
-
Because in previous pitch invasions at St Mary's the Northam stand is where it tends to start from and a higher % of those in the Northam stand illegally enter the field of play than from the Itchen/Chapel/Kingsland stands. Sweeping generalisations but... Itchen - full of the posh seats and the old Kingsland - full of the old Chapel - full of families Northam - full of chavs more likely to start chants of "on the pitch, on the pitch", and then actually run on the pitch and break the law. I'm not saying people from the Chapel/Kingsland/Itchen won't go on the pitch, many of them will when they see that the stewards and police have given up due to overwhelming numbers. But I bet you it is the Northam that is at the heart of any pitch invasion. I really don't see why going on the the pitch to celebrate is better than doing it in the stands. It will also delay the players coming out after the game for a lap of honour.
-
Where did I say that it was "just the Northam"?
-
Depends if it gets out of hand or not. There could be a pitch invasion from Saints fans at Home Park next Monday with Saints celebrating promotion whilst relegating Plymouth. Could turn nasty. I still don't understand the need for the Northam End to celebrate on the pitch rather than in the stands.
-
Why do people feel the need to go on the pitch anyway? Why can't you celebrate in the stands? If Saints fans do it against Walsall it may end up getting the club in trouble.
-
You don't play 140 games in the Championship without doing something right.
-
Goes to the last game of the season to see which teams make the semi finals (top of each of the four league)... Coventry vs Saints Fulham vs Leicester Yes, it seems odd but there have inter league games at the start and end of the season.

Martin is 4th choice, so that is unlikely.

Their manager said in interview after yesterday's game that they have no fit centre backs.

How many tickets sold for hartlepool and walsall?
Matthew Le God replied to Roger's topic in The Saints
Pointless asking the general ticket staff how sales are going, history has shown that they don't have a clue. -
Well he has already played 140 Championship games in his career.

Plymouth's squad is also very thin. Last match they only had 5 subs, two of which were youth team players. Before Saints play them, they have a feisty Devon derby two days earlier against Exeter. Where as Saints have the luxury of squad rotation, like swapping 3 of the back 4 in the last game through choice in order to rest them.
-
Yes we did. When Chaplow came on in the 69th minute, Saints switched to a diamond with Lallana behind the front two and Stephens sitting in front of the defence.

We gave Brighton a brass band guard of honour in 2001 after they won the league!

That is what I must have spent those two extra minutes perfecting. Baj was slack and used any old freeze frame!
