Surely the laws of God are timeless! If they can change to meet modern society then you didn't need them from God in the first place and society can make its own laws? Plenty of examples I could use, here are a mere handfull. Look them up for yourself! The Bible condoning... But because it is The Bible it won't happen.

The Bible is riddled with hundreds of contradictions. I don't see why a gay couple (or a straight couple) would want to put such an evil book like the Bible in their wedding. The book is sexist, racist, homophobic, says genocide, slavery, infanticide, rape, murder etc are all okay. Really it should be banned from publication.

I am just a random on an internet messageboard. Fleet Street, Sky, Daily Echo etc don't publish or broadcast my views (thank god you may say ) so there is a significant difference. Le Tissier and other ex Saints running to the press with their views does impact on Saints and the perceptions of the fanbase for better or worse and they really should think through what their comments may lead to.

My username represents my appreciation for him as a player (I first used this username over 8 years ago), it not all encompassing of all things he has done outside the football pitch. He says some very silly things and doesn't think about the implications of his actions and words.

No-one in this thread that I have seen has doubted the good service Le Tissier gave the club for many years. Doesn't mean he should expect any favours from the club if he constantly uses the media to bad mouth Cortese. Nor should the "Ex Saints" if some of their key members do the same. Of course Cortese isn't above criticism, but to publicly criticise him constantly with unsubstantiated rumour isn't professional, nor is it going to make someone go out of their way to help your cause. It is odd that Le Tiss and other former Saints that have done the same seem surprised that Cortese doesn't give them favours. I'd do exactly the same if I were Cortese, who has remained quiet and professional on this issue and all he has done is not dished out favours to those that use the media against him.

I wouldn't name the whole training ground after him. Staplewood Training Ground just sounds good, maybe call the main building "the Markus Liebherr Pavilion".

The insults you use towards Nicola Cortese are pathetic and xenophobic. All Cortese is doing is not giving any perks to those that criticise him, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that and most people would do the same. Why go out of your way for someone that tries to rubbish your name in the press? Do you think Cortese should give Le Tissier perks and treats, even though Le Tissier has on numerous occasions slagged Cortese off in the media over the last 18 months? Yes, Le Tissier is a Saints legend. But outside of the football pitch he makes some very questionable decisions and doesn't realise his actions have consequences he may not like.

Yes, of course he can say what he likes. It would be better if he had evidence for his views though, rather than jumping on the slagging Cortese off bandwagon with unsubstantiated rumours. However he shouldn't act all surprised and go running back to the press when the person he slagged off doesn't do him any favours with tickets etc etc. The administrators during administration and afterwards said the club came extremely close to folding. Are they "pretty thick"? Yes, it may make them look better and help their cause in selling the business if they say this. However they still said it and it may have been true. Thus to call me "pretty thick" as you did for believing it may have been a possibility, I feel is unjustified.

Yes, Le Tissier is a key figure in Saints history. But that doesn't give him the right to slag off Cortese with largely unsubstantiated slurs on numerous occasions in the national and local press and then expect to receive perks and privileges from Cortese. Although it is for very different reasons than Le Tissier and on a much shorter timescale, Nicola Cortese is a key figure for Southampton Football Club, without him we could very well have been without a team at all in the summer of 2009.
