  1. Argyle are going to offer creditors 1p in the pound in the CVA. 20x worse than Pompey!
  2. I'm hurt by that comment.
  3. No longer a rumour. Nigel Adkins confirmed today that Jack Stephens has been to the club to have a look round.
  4. How do you know?
  5. It is not that the Football League would throw them out. It is that the club might be liquidated on business grounds - nothing the Football League would/could do about that.
  6. Lee Barnard is 5 foot 10" or 178cm, which is hardly a midget! Certainly not short enough for a chant about being small. I should be asking you - Are we talking about the same Lee Barnard here? I get to plenty of games as a season ticket holder. Do you?
  7. I was just asking as I genuinely thought it was something else. That line doesn't come across very clear from the Northam when they sing it, to my seat in the Kingsland. Just seemed odd to me they would chant about him being short, when he isn't.
  8. Isn't the the chant...? "he sure is f*cking hard, he's wanted by Scotland Yard, Lee Barnard, Barnard"
  9. Court case adjourned until 13th April. Was due for committal at Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow.
  10. You can leave blank spaces in the squad, which then count in the same way as home grown players.
  11. I think his point was more that all these clubs (at the time Saints brought the players) were desperate for money and had serious issues. Stephens - Yes on loan, but the Oldham press have said Saints paid Oldham a significant loan fee. Oldham haven't been paying their wages on time. Plymouth, Southend, Charlton, Crystal Palace and Preston all had big problems at the time of the deals and Saints took advantage of them. Not so sure about Brentford/Dickson, I'm unaware of any serious financial problems there. More a case (I think) of Dickson wanting a better deal for himself. It may sound harsh but is an effective transfer policy. Clubs took advantage of Saints in 2009 with Surman and McGoldrick etc going cheap.
  12. 1) Cortese said he put offers in the bin in January. Alex is under contract and could be a Championship regular next season and a Premier League player with Saints before he reaches 20. I think he'll only be sold if we don't go up this season, or again if we don't go straight up next season to the Premier League. 2) Nonsense - Ferguson returned on the 12th January 2011. Peterborough were 5th at that time, 4 points off 2nd with a game in hand on 2nd. 3) We haven't spent as much because the main players for the starting XI had already been put in place. The multi million pound training ground was improved and added to after Markus' death. 4) Selling the best right midfielder to buy a striker when we already had Lambert, Barnard and Guly doesn't help the squad. In any case Premier League chasing Norwich couldn't get him in January as the didn't want to upset their promotion bid. So they certainly wouldn't sell him to one of their main rivals. CMS will be sold in the summer, Peterborough have said as much. Then is the time to buy him (though it will probably be Norwich that get him).
  13. 1) Why sell Chamberlain when you don't need to? 2) Why would Peterborough sell CMS to a main promotion rival? It just wouldn't happen until the summer. 3) Why do you think Saints need to sell before they can buy? 4) Who would have then played on the right wing?
  14. So should Saints have signed players better than Lallana and Chamberlain and put Alex and Adam on the bench? - Chaplow, N'Guessan and Forte are experienced Championship players (Forte and N'Guessan have hardly played so harsh to judge them yet really). - Guly from Serie A and a key figure in their promtion campaign to the top flight. - Stephens, 21 years old, vice captain and top goalscorer from Oldham from central midfield.
  15. There is probably nothing in it, but you never know...
  16. So did I just imagine Guly, Forte, Chaplow, N'Guessan and Stephens signed for Saints in 2011?
  17. Jack Stephens
  18. Plymouth's 17 year old defender Jack Stephens to join Saints.
  19. Both of those are hardly secrets, was in the Plymouth Evening Herald last week.
  20. Radhi Jaidi on twitter... "Adam is almost ready not sure about Alex it will take longer time ...."
  21. That isn't a new formation, Saints have been using it for a few months now and switch tactics between that and 442 throughout games. Guly is probably ahead of Forte for a starting role and would play behind Lambert and Barnard in such a system.
  22. The game has already sold out in the Brighton end. Saints fans won't be able to infiltrate them. In fact every game is sold out in the home ends... http://www.seagulls.talent-sport.co.uk/PagesPublic/ProductBrowse/productHome.aspx
