  1. Fonte should be pronounced like this in Portuguese... http://www.forvo.com/word/fonte/ Jose should be pronounced like this in Portuguese... http://www.forvo.com/word/josé/#pt

  3. Can you really blame Cortese for not giving Le Tissier "freebies" when Matt has slagged him off numerous times in the press? If I were Cortese I wouldn't be giving Matt any freebies, and I like Le Tiss as you can tell by my username.
  4. More importantly, they will probably miss any goals by showing adverts breaks instead. Or doing "arty" closeups and not keep up with the action, quickly to cut to it just after something happens at the other end of the pitch. ITV Sport production really is a shambles. Thankfully I don't have to watch it as I'm going to the game, but I may Sky+ it to watch later.
  5. Hardly comparable 3rd tier clubs to Saints though are they?
  6. Cortese said Chamberlain won't be sold. It is hard for Cortese to say and mean that if there is a minimum fee release clause which takes it out of his hands. Thus it is unlikely that one exists.
  7. I'd prefer Martin to play, than Seaborne.
  8. Seaborne is terrible in the air. Mis-times jumps, poor positioning and when he does head the ball it is often aimless. Although Jaidi has the pace of an asthmatic ant with heavy shopping and the turning circle of an oil tanker, I'd much prefer him starting with Fonte against Man Utd.
  9. More proof of how the press twist words... The Sun says... Saints boss Nigel Adkins revealed: "He has Arsenal and United interested while Barcelona and Real Madrid will always look for talent abroad." Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have also joined the chase, with both clubs making firm enquiries. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3378239/Saints-starlet-has-the-AleX-factor.html He didn't say those thing in the interview at all! They have written it as though they were direct quotes, but they are a patch work quilt of things he said and have been taken completely out of context.
  10. I feel dirty. Is that normal?
  11. Whoops, I meant Bill Green joined Leicester City from Saints in November 2010.
  12. Better to show those from 2010 than March 2013 as his attributes will have changed.
  13. I'd like to take this opportunity to repost this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrO061mzNlQ
  14. David Burke left Saints in early November 2010 and joined Leicester City. EDIT: No he didn't see post #15
  15. Technically if tonights game does finish a draw or a defeat for Peterborough, the lowest Saints can go this weekend is 6th. Though that does require Oldham Athletic winning by any score and Charlton Athletic winning by a huge margin.
  16. Well that is wrong for a start! You can't have over aged players in the under 18's Premier League Academy leagues, he seems to be confusing it with the under 21 development squad (or the Olympics).
  17. So you put this ahead of Lallana on a 4 and half year deal, Guly and Chaplow?
  18. The reason Saints got this guy from the company that did UEFA Champions League marketing was for deals like this. Scott Steadman joins... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2096187,00.html It is not Saints main sponsor, Mercedes are just "vehicle partners" and it is also Mercedes of Southampton, not Mercedes. Will probably have another company on the shirts next season.
  19. Alpine still not answered my question in post #343
  20. Where has the money for the Guly deal, Chaplow deal, Lallana contract and multi million training ground upgrade come from then?
  21. Maybe if that article is indeed correct, Saints didn't think he was worth £1.6m and that paying Austin £12k a week breaks their current wage structure. Spending on a multi million training ground upgrade shows funding is still very much there.
  22. The Mirror have gone from... "Chamberlain at Arsenal training ground" last Friday (even though he was on a coach to Tranmere) and about to leave Saints type stories to... Not even mentioning it in tomorrows article about the 10 biggest transfers they expect to go through... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-gossip-Luis-Suarez-Liverpool-Charlie-Adam-David-Luiz-Chelsea-Robbie-Keane-West-Ham-Phil-Neville-Tottenham-The-10-biggest-transfers-we-expect-to-happen-before-the-window-closes-by-Darren-Lewis-article683719.html The list is hardly full of huge deals, number 8 for example is the West Ham 2nd choice left back being sold.
  23. You have your own version of Godwin's law.
  24. What is this based on? If Saints are "inconsistent", what makes Bournemouth or Huddersfield or Peterborough or Charlton more consistent? The first two are only 2 points ahead having played a game more and the second two are behind Saints. If you look at it from games since Adkins took over, Saints are more consistent than anyone bar Brighton.
  25. You said they had an "80% chance of staying up". Despite only being 6 points above the relegation zone and them being 19th in the form tables and dropping (with a small squad). What was your "80%" claim based on?
