  1. Yes, matched on points, but not games. He made the point it will go down to the last game of the season. I however think it is more likely that after the Plymouth vs Saints game (when every team in League One will have played 45 games), the 2nd placed team may well be 4 points above 3rd place (or 3 points with far superior goal difference).
  2. The deadline is tomorrow.
  3. Have you read the article?
  4. We don't know, as the club hasn't said and it may not say as they often don't like to give out such information which can benefit the opposition.
  5. Strangely he has been making the odd positive post recently, then as soon as a "poor" result comes along he is back to the same. 2 points behind and 2 games in hand is a strong position for a team near the top of the league. Far better to have that as a position than Huddersfield's position. If it were 3 points behind and 1 game in hand then of course you would prefer the points, but Saints can potentially go 4 points ahead when the games even out. With superior goal difference they can even afford to win one, lose one of the games in hand, or draw both.
  6. My first clue was that the thread is entitled "Let's settle for the playoffs", which when in a strong position of a mere 2 points behind and 2 games in hand suggests a degree of giving up whilst ahead. Cheer up Alpine (and stop shouting in bold and capitals ). As for ..."Absolutely f**king mental how things are interpreted on here", it is funny that you of all people make that comment. Especially whilst making a thread like this!
  7. Well it is nonsense. Are you suggesting we should try to lose games? There is no "discussion" to be had, the opening and subsequent posts by you in this thread are beyond words.
  8. This must be a joke. Even Alpine can't be this daft. Can he?
  9. http://audioboo.fm/boos/309941-saints-manager-nigel-adkins-talks-about-the-injuries-to-adam-lallana-alex-chamberlain-the-possibilty-of-jason-puncheon-returning-to-the-club?utm_campaign=detailpage&utm_content=retweet&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
  10. He was on the bench against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday as well and has been back in training for a while now.
  11. Yes, official Saints Twitter.
  12. - A knock to the head and precautionary substitution. - 11 days until the next game. Hardly the end of the world.
  13. Really? Saints 59% Charlton 41% Saints 10 shots Charlton 2 shots Saints 3 corners Charlton 0 corners
  14. So a 4-0 win tonight will see Adkins sacked?
  15. Mathematically impossible, as we play them in 4 games time and there will still be plenty of games left.
  16. Maths not your strong point? You seem to not know what the term "in our hands" means. - If Saints or Brighton win every game they are guaranteed to go up. - Thus in their hands. - If Peterborough or Huddersfield or MK Dons or Bournemouth or Leyton Orient win all their games they are not guaranteed to go up. - Thus NOT in their hands.
  17. Get Saints Player. They even have a free trial at the moment.
  18. It may have escaped your notice, but he has been back in training for while now and you can see him training in the last few match build up videos.
  19. Why? Peterborough are a better side than MK Dons, have played fewer games and have more points. Far better that MK Dons won from a Saints perspective. Saints are level on points with MK Dons, have a better goal difference by 27 and still have three games in hand (plus play them at St Mary's). Peterborough are far more of a threat than MK Dons.
  20. You wouldn't want him to do this twice in quick succession to you though... Poor Barney!
  21. I know Forte is very quick, but Barnard isn't slow for this level. Forte will be behind Barnard and Guly in the pecking order to start upfront with Lambert.
  22. No-ones game is the same and you have brought/sold players in the last 18 months that would effect the budget.
  23. He was playing just behind the strikers with Hammond sitting in front of the defence (also swapped with Chaplow and Chamberlain throughout). Not a normal central midfield role in a flat midfield. Guly and Lambert can also (and have been) used deeper (although not in a flat four man midfield).
  24. What are the words to the Cortese song? Can't say I've ever heard it from my seat in the Kingsland.
