  1. I like watching Villa, what's the composite Saints/Villa side? I'll go first, Targett at Left Back.
  2. Thank goodness for VAR, no longer will the big boys get everything and the plucky underdogs (cf Southampton FC) will get their just deserts and football will be fair forever more.
  3. Being trolled by your own Prime Minister; 'useful idiots' doesn't even come close.
  4. Apologies on the stat error, they didn't look right when I wrote them, found them squinting at small text on a phone after a glass or two! I knew the Carlos Kickaball/swarthy foreigner/man-thing came into it somewhere. I've been impressed with just how good Ings is this season.
  5. Ings 22 in 46 (League) in a weaker/struggling team. Pelle 12 in 38 (League) in a half decent team. How many would Ings score playing with Mane, Tadic, Lallana?
  6. Happy to put Jimmy Case back, I think I've had a Dominic Raab/Dover moment in not realising quite how much he played for us. For me he would always be synonomous as a Liverpool player and to an extent even as a Brighton player too. I didn't see much of Saints then and clearly reading back he was very much in his prime with us. Google would tend to agree with me though, three quarters of the stuff on line about him is Liverpool related. Maybe this is a whole new thread, players we think of highly as Saints fans but players 'most' football fans would associate with a completely different club. eg Jimmy Case (!), Chivers, Shearer for three.
  7. Rodrigues McCalliog Osgood, all shoe-ins and well past their prime, AKA, you'll win nothing with kids. Jimmy Case, no spring chicken either. Maybe Lee Todd just got old before his time?
  8. Anybody back me up on this? That Leeds team at the Dell, Billy Bremner injuring one of his own players in the warm-up (possibly by smashing the ball in their face!) to the extent that the trainer came on during the warm-up, and I 'think' the player didn't start the game. Have I imagined all this? I would have been about 7 or 8 when it occurred!
  9. Extraordinary to see the rehabilitation of JWP in the last 6 months! 'Most' fans wanted him sold to Watford or a 'Championship at best' club 12 months ago, now he appears in half the all-time 5 a-side teams! My effort: Niemi Reuben Agboola Ball Mane Keegan B Team Shilton Mark Wright Lallana Pahars SRL
  10. Enjoying the thread, don't want it to expire before I get one!
  11. Good work, it is the 'previous clubs' of the '76 cup winning side in player order, missing from the list were Holmes/Channon/Stokes, none of whom has a previous club.
  12. I don't get any right but I've got a good question, who is missing from this list? Grimsby Sheff Weds Gillingham Crystal Palace Dundee Doncaster Man Utd Chelsea Blackpool
  13. Would they all start on minus 10?
  14. Are we the only club to have installed a full under-soil heating system, presumably to meet some sort of UEFA stipulation, and then have never connected/commissioned it? I think I'm right in saying that we've never had a game frozen/snowed off at SMS? Because we are a) so close to the Itchen and b) at an altitude of
  15. Not quite right ,his shirt number referred to the shape of his head, 1 GBP/2 = 50p
  16. Probably ran the first ten days in his head
  17. Possibly a cup game where a number of the lower numbers were rested? No idea!
  18. The old man in Above Bar selling the Echo. 'Echo!'.... repeat.
  19. Loved EM, one of my first Saints heroes.
  20. Is it still free? The points look like some sort of in-app purchase thing?
  21. Not all bad though, when Labour take over at the next election they will have a ten year pass on clearing up the Tories' mess
  22. Lead story on bbc football, saints think league can be finished by june - insane and insensitive.
  23. Not really, it was Les that spent all morning banging on about business as usual, apologies if I threw a brick through his window and that offended you. We might as well lock this thread now if we are all going to fall in behind the group-think and only be allowed to comment on one issue at a time.
  24. As the young mum in the supermarket queue who has just lost her couple of shifts at the local pub which she uses to supplement the income from the other two PT jobs she works, said to the man next to her in the queue who has just been laid off and has no idea what comes next 'Thank God we got Brexit done'. Said no one ever.
