  1. Just been mounting some old tickets (ooh-er missus): Sat 5th Jan 2008, Kick off 3.00 pm , Leicester City FA Cup 3rd Round, Block 42, Adult £15 .... Lowe out!
  2. Xmas quiz question (I'm not sure of the question or the answers but bear with it) .... Which are the four (?) English or Scottish grounds where the tunnel is situated behind the goal line (rather than on the touchline or in a corner). No takers for the quiz? This was a pub quiz chestnut back in the day but I think it might have been superseded by new grounds opening/re-development/new teams to the leagues etc .... more of a Xmas riddle than a Xmas quiz. Anybody? Any ground(s) where the teams come out behind the goal?
  3. I might have missed a trick here, I only looked at the old pics...... did people really get the 'old' ****x*****y****z**** ground? The one with the tunnel behind the goal? I have no recollection of that at all..... (I'm 53 on Thursday). Xmas quiz question (I'm not sure of the question or the answers but bear with it) .... Which are the four (?) English or Scottish grounds where the tunnel is situated behind the goal line (rather than on the touchline or in a corner).
  4. http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/series/photography-then-and-now Seven out of ten, I'll take that.
  5. Oops, medium term memory loss alert.
  6. I think the big scouse one, the one with the funny beard and the big one at the back who kept slipping over have all moved to Liverpool. Not sure about the others.
  7. Take that all day, we took Cardiff to pieces first 20 minutes last year , a very un-Saints-like boxing day performance. Mind you I did see us win at Palace on Boxing Day a few years back, 1-0 with a rare Matt Oakley goal, and a very good one too.
  8. Ich bin ein Berliner, one for the over 60's.
  9. Davis terrific today.
  10. Fantasticccc!!!!
  11. So much more positive with 2 up front, looking really dangerous on the counter.
  12. Fair play to RK, he's getting a decent performance out of the boysh so far. Enjoying this at the moment.
  13. Is Liverpool really 16-15 kick off rather than the usual 16-00? Looks like an extra 15 minutes squeaky bum time for the treacherous two?
  14. 7.2, Trousers must guard against becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.
  15. DONE, Interesting questions, and some that will challenge you beyond the obvious. Hopefully he (she?) is going to collect up a large sample size because there's an awful lot of options in there. Do it, it will make you think.
  16. Big no from me, I wouldn't drive from here to SMS between 4-7pm on a Friday evening, and I can't see many away grounds either that are easily accessible in that time frame. And as we 'always' lose on Sky imagine how carp Sat and Sun would be if we did get a Friday game......
  17. God how I miss watchng Lloyd James and Olly Lanaster.
  18. Good stop Ff, virtual spectator this half so good concentration.
  19. Was anybody really expecting sexy football today? Away in the frozen north and 1 point in 12?
  20. FFFFFFSSSSSAKE!
  21. Clattenberg telling Hesketh he's changed since he made his debut.
  22. Can't you two just breed then we could have at least one proper fan at sometime in the future....
  23. Massive fair play to him. For anybody that's going to work in a beetroot factory tomorrow, never stop dreaming. Non-league, to PL to WC to CL, and retire as a self-made multi-millionaire - what's not to like? Not sure SRL played non-Lge? Should say L2!
  24. Not blaming him per se, clearly the goal was caused in large part by Fonte's attempted back pass. I'm saying Forster could have done several things to make it harder for RVP to score, he could have come out of his area and beaten him to the ball (couldn't see if that was the case on any of the telly angles but some on this thread suggest that was possible?), he could have headed him off at the top of the box, he could have got closer to the ball and stayed on his feet and attempted to channel him wider, he could have rushed the ball in a big starfish/Schmeichal-type spread. The fact that he didn't do any of these things gave RVP one of the easiest goals he will ever score. The forward would probably score that goal 80% of the time, Forster's seeming unpreparedness (for what was an entirely predictable scenario) is the fine margins we are talking about.
  25. There's your problem right there – he’s currently got a problem with a combination of concentration/anticipation which puts his decision-making under-pressure and he is having to re-act to events rather than be pro-active and manage himself, his defence, his own space and the oppo players too (if he did those things more pro-actively he would find his concentration levels naturally improving). A top line keeper must expect the unexpected - 'what if?' scenarios if you will. 'He didn't expect Fonte to be a pillock' wouldn't stand up as an excuse in an u13 Sunday team. Fonte receives the ball, there isn’t much on, Fonte takes an extra touch and closes off his options, RVP is lurking clear of the CB’s and close to the line of any putative back pass - Forster needs to get active much quicker - get wide right to receive the ball from Fonte and take RVP out of the equation, or shout Fonte to get rid into touch, or shout Fonte that RVP is behind him etc. Worst case scenario – (What if….?) Fonte slips/miskicks/brain farts and the ball is played back down the line of RVP (which is exactly what happened) - Forster needs to know what he is going to do BEFORE this happens ... which parts of the pitch can he reach first? where is it 50/50? what will he do if the ball is played into that contested area? which areas of the pitch can RVP receive the ball unopposed? what will he do if that happens? etc etc. He has to make all these decisions BEFORE the event happens; his starting positions, his (lack of) anticipation, his re-acting to events, shows you this isn't happening. Once RVP received that ball unopposed, and Forster then made his little hesitation/indecision the moment where he may have prevented the goal was lost and it was pretty much a formality for RVP to walk it through/round/under/past him. Ditto the second goal, he had no 'plan' to deal with the scenario that unfurled, he stands passively in his goal and is then nut-megged from 3 yds - Gazza or Davis would be getting absolute pelters on here for that level of performance. We all want Forster to do well, unfortunately at the moment he’s coming up a little bit short of the standard required. Not sure where we go from here? There’s no viable alternative to give him a break at the moment so guess we will have to keep backing him while he learns on the job but he is a long way from the finished article at the moment.
