this is my favourite bit.... The UnderSea project began in 1996 as a three-way collaboration between a visionary named J. Joseph Cala, Clive Jones, Senior Vice President of the prestigious research and feasibility firm of Economics Research Associates and George Berean, Senior Vice President of the internationally renowned architectural firm of Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo. I'm sorry Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo. Sounds like a Monty Python sketch to me........

A bit more on Cala Corp. http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/snapshot/snapshot.asp?ticker=CCAA:US Dated March last year, but without cash flow to live for 12 months, they'll be out of cash by March, so let's hope this one goes through and we can look forward to the next round of "new owners" in a couple of months.... Cala Corporation filed its Form 10-Q with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company intends to raise additional capital. The company stated: “Our current cash flow will not be sufficient to maintain our capital requirements for the next twelve months. Accordingly, the Company will need to continue raising capital through either debt or equity instruments. The Company believes it will need to raise additional capital to continue executing the business plan. Whereas the Company has been successful in the past in raising capital, no assurance can be given that these sources of financing will continue to be available to us and/or that demand for our equity/debt instruments will be sufficient to meet our capital needs, or that financing will be available on terms favorable to the Company I love their vision... Cala Corp. announced that it will expand its Undersea Resort in response to the $1 trillion global market demands. The Undersea Resort has signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement with the most prestigious yard in the industry STX Europe, for future waterfront construction of the following various possible uses: Lavishly-appointed Suites - 330, ranging from 1,100 to 12,000 square feet each. Spa and Ageless Treatment Clinic - 500,000 square feet, Convention Center and Executive Meeting space - 1,200,000 square feet, CasinoResort, Family Gaming Arcade and Water Park - 1,000,000 square feet, Class A Exhibit and Concert Hall space - 13,000 seats, Professional Sport Stadium - 20,000 seats, Undersea Natural Aquarium - 5,000,000 square feet, Class A Tower Office - 1,000,000 square feet, and University or Hospital Campus - From 500,000 to 1,200,000 square feet. The global market demand is endless because the waterfront undeveloped properties represent almost 75% of the earth's traditional real estate. The product line is especially attractive to industry because the Undersea Resort has the added benefit of being environmentally safe, with almost zero emission. The actual development cost per location is from $500 million to $1.5 billion. Each development location will be funded directly by the actual owner of the project. The owners are classified as the largest pension system funds or REIT.

that's just plain funny. he is a grade A pillock. He always wanted his shot at the premiership, he's had it, and he has failed. Loser. hahaha. (or maybe I just dont like the bloke)

very good :-) erm, didn't stop us having more guinesses on several other occassions in the RoI. just made me realise that racism isn't always black and white
-
here's an example. I was working in Naas, County Kildare when I was about 26 years old. Having had a belly full of food and several guinesses one evening with my host, I guess a twenty something Irish chap, called Enda, he said something to me, which caused me to respond, "but that's a bit Irish". What I meant, was that he said something completely daft. The sterotypical Irish thing was, dare I say it, second nature. or accidentally racist. Enda wasn't impressed either way :-)

Whilst I'm sorry for yours and others' angst, I can't help but feel from a marketing perspective it's a cute trick. There were several hundred disappointed fans today, some of whom have let many others know of their disappointment. Thus increasing the urgency with which fans will buy tickets for remaining fixtures. "I don't want to miss out like those folks did for Brighton tickets...." Ultimately, the club will try and sell as many tickets as possible. Anything that creates the reality, or perception, of demand outstripping supply, adds to demand....and happy days for ticket sales. And before anyone jumps back with a "upsetting fans is a bad thing", football fans are notoriously loyal, it's not like changing your supermarket..... So, whilst I can relate to the annoyance of the fans who queued without success, perhaps the club had some method in their madness. (or probably more realistically, they just didnt give it a moment's thought!!!!!) But before we hang the ticket office organisers, maybe we should wonder when the last time tickets went on sale and physical presence meant tickets for some and not for others? The internet and telephone lines has lessened the need to sell tickets by hand.......

sorry for the copy and paste, but rings with a bit more truth :-)

Saints 3 Brighton 0 - Post Match Chat
ooh it's a corner replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
first was debatable, second was nailed on. Red card was for foul and abusive language. The player was warned to take his protest away and he kept going. So, what the referee did was harsh on the player, but well within the laws of the game. As for the one he missed for Lambert in the second half, it was possibly the most obvious pen this year. So, overall, we cannot think we are lucky, we got two pens, perhaps could have had 4-5. hard luck Brighton :-) -
Morgan is French, so we ought to do what Man Utd did with the oh ah Cantona.... To the tune of La Marseilles Morgan, Schneiderlin Morgan, Schneiderlin, Morgan, Morgan, Morgan, Schneiderlin, Morgan, Schneiderlin

Strangest thing you've heard shouted out at Southampton?
ooh it's a corner replied to ToreSF's topic in The Saints
I have a few... A very drunk fella in the Milton early eighties singing heartily on his own, in the direction of Peter Shilton, "The Moat House has burnt down, the Moat House has burnt down". To this day, I still don't understand it. The Moat House was the hotel at the bottom of Highfield Road (now the Highfield House Hotel), but it hadnt burnt down. Second up, although at an away game in Nottingham, was a very drunk student chanting (again on his own), "Pearce is my Grandma, Pearce is my Grandma, la, la, la, la" etc. In a game which picked Stuart Pearce, versus Neil Ruddock. No pulling out of tackles in that contest...also nobody joining in with the student. Third up, although not politically correct, was a shout out, after an own goal at the Dell, maybe early eighties (L.Orient perhaps?), with a whipped in cross and deflection of the black centre-half, which flew into the net. Followed by a shout out of "in off the black, seven away". (i know that's not pc, but is quite witty) -
trouble is I've heard it's; back to Celtic. Stay here. or Red Square Belgrade
-
It certainly will. Jos has been the Star lin our team this season.

Poyet to Forest? That's why the five year deal was signed last week, so there could be a big pay off?

Me + 1 Plus me dad on separate holidays, I hasten to add. but 3 down from normal. love to be there, but sunshine + pool beckons......

For what it's worth, I'm with you. My Dad's 68 so gets the concession price, but as an pensioner, I now shout his ticket, as he had done for me, many (skint) years in the past. All the angst against the senior population on here is pretty ugly to read and if there was a few years difference in Dad's age, I would be fuming at the price hike - as it is I've got away with a mere 33% ish rise, bargain. As for the spite that is being posted on here...pretty shameful, but once people have worked for most of their adults lives, they'll change their opinion on the perks of getting older.

me neither, but St Vince's post #134 seems to fuel that one

I'm not sure I agree with the club bashing over the lack of season ticket info. Remembering back a few seasons it always struck me as bonkers that season ticket prices were announced before we knew which division we were going to be in - presumably for the same lack of cash flow that Norwich suffer from, with the introduction of an earlier early bird each year. So, the same was true in March this year, the club did not know which division we would be in next. So, there are only two choices, announce season ticket pricing with League One and Championship pricing, or wait. I'd also like to think that the season ticket pricing is also related to the costs of running the club (albeit I accept that these days it is a smaller percentage of revenue than yesteryear). So, perhaps the club wants to understand who the manager wants to keep/release/sign, before doing the maths on the season ticket pricing. The other factor, for me, in season ticket sales, is the feel good factor. If the club doesnt expect any major signings, then the best time to sell season tickets was probably the second we were assured of promotion. (which means this boat has now sailed). However, if the club is expecting a major signing, this could be better than the feel good factor at promotion... Finally, with regards to the "no season tickets" idea, I'm not sure it's as leftfield as it sounds (although as a ST holder it would be a right royal pain in the backside). I think it would result in bigger gate receipts if the club is successful, and smaller gate receipts if the club is not - I can't work out whether a club that wants to do something differently to the world's most successful teams is maverick or barmy....
