Shut up with that arrogant talk!
-
Still not answering the question though are you? And for the record no one knows who the plymouth chairman is pretty much everyone knows who the south club are now....
-
You'd go a long way to find a more unpopular chief exec though. Finally why do you think we get bad press? I notice you're not too good at that point? Is it because we are just misunderstood?
-
And in the absence of any explanation you can conclude either it was disciplinary (unlikely given three members of staff went) or that it was because AP just didn't fit. Given the rumours over the summer I know which one I'd choose.
-
Clearly there's a credibility issue if Howe turned us down? And the Scunny chairman said we were difficult...you already know this....why do you think we get bad press?
-
What's happened about the ST plan then? the idea that it could be re-introduced when we got swipe cards? Why not say that at the time? it's hardly confidential stuff is it and would have saved a fair bit of bad press. i hope NC does pay attention to this forum. I could then tell him that in the absence of a decent explanantion of why AP and his staff were sacked it's my opinion that he's ****ed up the start of the season and left with potential replacements that on paper could only hope to be as good as AP.
-
Bournemouth, Scunny, the BBC, the printed media.....that's just off the top of my head...why do you think we get bad press?
-
To be honest I doubt he'd take much credence from this or any other forum. What is true is that NC has managed in the space of what 3 months to **** virtually everyone off except a lot of people on this forum. That may have had an effect if he was ever interested....
-
Well that could be true I suppose but in the recent fans interview thing he did it seemed as though it was actually still in place. Surely though if it was anything to do with Markus being ill they would have had to ban all cameras? Actually I think NC has a valid point but the way he went about it was totally wrong.
-
To be fair we're still suffering the hangover since you left. What a couple of years celebration that was.
-
Has Cortese actually revoked the ban on photographers?
-
I was just pointing out how wrong you can be.
-
You apologised after the Bristol Rovers home game.
-
Just pointing out that last season when people were calling for a bit of time and patience and maybe an open mind all you could do was shout No excuses FFS! When people disagreed with you there were "No Excuses FFS!" Why is that you shouted that at Pardew virtually all the time (and Lallana and Scneiderlin until you saw them play) and yet Cortese should be given more time or an open mind? Surely as chief exec he needs to take his share of the blame?
-
No excuses FFS! We have a rich owner and are a big club. We should have a manager and a good one. We shouldn't be in this situation. Infuriating that argumentative position isn't it? remind you of anyone?
-
Well MoN is probably far fetched but there are plenty of managers out there with more stature and relevant experience. To be honest I think we should just loan managers from other clubs - we rarely need them for too long.
-
So if you think Adkins experience with Scunny doesn't really compare with the challenge he faces here with a completely different club with completely different expectations then you don't know football? Bit arrogant isn't it? Isn't it also arrogant to suggest that if you don't think he's the right choice then you've never heard of him? Give some people a bit of credit for being able to form an informed opinion that just happens to disagree with yours.
-
He may well have done - I was just telling you what they reported at 10.30 last night.
-
I watched the update at 10.30 last night and that wasn't a throwaway line. They said "We understand that Alan Shearer would like the job" or something like that. I didn't watch the 6.30 one so can't comment on that though.
-
This is a great way to get back at the press! Genius! I reckon every media outlet must have a SaintsFC division just to keep up with us. I salute you Cortese!
-
Christ can't you read? I said that including Shearer was a mistake! That said yes, I'd take him over Adkins purely because he'd get the fans on side earlier. Did Keane have any experience? Did Beckenbauer? Did Keegan?
-
Well, if I have to explain it again then I believe an experienced manager who has had the experience of dealing with the big expectations we have is better equipped to deal with this challenge than Adkins who hasn't ever had that level of expectation. Not so hard to understand is it? Sleep tight and enjoy school tomorrow.
-
So you're argument is....what exactly? I've never said Adkins couldn't do a good job just that there are reasons why he might not and that I'd choose to go for experience. Of course the names I suggested might not do the job either and for varying reasons - I'd never say they were a guaranteed success. I criticised you for having a pop at people who went for the kind of names I was suggesting and you've done nothing except say "well, who knows?" which is exactly my point. Jog on fella....
-
I'm not so sure. Keegan got Arthur Cox in as assistant in his early days and may feel the role would suit him now. less pressure and more fun.
-
Yet all with the exception of Shearer had got promotion at a big club so just as much crediblity as Adkins. Hardly embarassing is it? So it comes back down to potential vs experience and I'd go for experience. Of course you think that's irrelevant argument.
