  1. It looks like "Total football" to me.....
  2. Oi, shut it. Your job is to provide rumours about new players - you haven't done that in the last post. You disgust me.
  3. I want new owners with even more money. 2.7 Billion isn't really enough for me now and I feel we've sold the club to the first billionaire who fluttered his eyelashes at us. We should be playing the long game like Charlton and Pompey, those are the clubs with real ambition. Just one big signing this week smacks of apathy.
  4. Pay to make a prediction? I think it's free even if you live up north....
  5. Racon was an unused sub last night so while he didn't play he was still available for them. Does this mean he's now cup tied? Not that we've signed him or anything but it seems as if he'd cost a hell of a lot for a div 3 player and there'd be competition from CCC clubs as well.
  6. Forget the spine....Alex Ferguson has said that the basis of a good team is a good big toe and that's the right back position - we're sorted there.
  7. For you posh Dibden Purlieu types the match will be whenever you can make it.
  8. Get in! Scottish Midgets Rule!
  9. That's the other thing....why do we need just the one manager? I love new manager threads as well and to be fair we've never had enough managers for my liking. We need at least one per player or we'll be relegated. When that happens i want more than one chairman to blame as well.
  10. Just what does this say about our owners? A total lack of ambition. I've specifically taken this week off because i was promised signings and so far....we've had one. That's not good enough. Not even any good rumours either just people saying who they think would be good. I'm prepared to rave about players I've never seen as long as we've bought them (and hopefully trebled their wages) but so far since way back yesterday there's not been a sniff of a signing. SKY Sports has just reported that there's less than 22 days till the end of the transfer window - that's not enough time to get the 300 players I feel we need to really make an impression in this league.
  11. It's both tonight and tomorrow night. Northampton have agreed to a two legged affair (both at SMS) due to the unprecedented demand for tickets.
  12. No doubt he's a good player and if he gave 100% then would be great for us but......would he be that committed? To be fair he's always looked like he's given everything in games I've seen so this is a more general "Is it worth spending a lot of money on players with good reputations in higher leagues but who will naturally see us as one last payday?" There are bargains to be had that won't cost the earth and if they have the passion and ambition then maybe that's what we should be looking at? Take that Tom Craddock fella - decent education at 'Boro and must be desperate to prove himself - he could be the guy who people want to sign for seven figures in two years time. Oh, and I know they play in different positions - I was just using him as an example.
  13. I think I speak for all people when I say Pahars was no midget - he was 5ft 8". That's average. At a full 1 inch shorter Bryson falls into the stupidly tiny category. He's never seen without a box he can stand on and that's why they call him a box to box midfielder as the SPL gave him special dispensation to install two boxes in the penalty areas at Killie's home ground in case he'd need to make a header or such like.
  14. He sounds like a carbon copy of Gillet. Is Pardew hoping to sneak the two midgets onto the pitch with one on the others shoulders and pass them off as one player? Or are we going in for dwarf throwing at half time?
  15. Absolutely and tomorrow could be a great chance in a competition I doubt either side will take that seriously. Looking at the goals lambert scored is really good but the one thing that stands out is how much space the fella is given at this level. He wouldn't get that even in the CCC but fair play to the lad he can certainly hit a shot with power and precision. As pardew said earlier, he's looking at players that will get us out of div 3 and Lambert fits that bill to a T.
  16. I've gone for Lambert and a new signing simply because I don't think the poles will be here at the end of the month. Simeon Jackson or Nathan Tyson would fit the bill for the second pacy striker very well. I actually think Patterson could do the job but he's still a kid and there's got to be doubts whether he could carry that role for a whole season, particularly as Pardew seems to think we've got too many young players in the first team. We've got to sort out the rest of the team as well though - it's not going to be any good having great strikers if we don't provide enough chances for them.
  17. I think it may be due to a combination of factors. His age being one - sign him up on a 3 year deal and we're unlikely to get our money back. He lacks pace (by his own admission) and probably isn't going to do much of a job for any CCC side looking to get promoted once they actually get promoted. I'm playing devils advocate here and think he's probably exactly the kind of signing we could have done with when we got relegated from the prem. However, you can see how CCC chairmen would look at it as (probably) money poorly spent. No one would touch Lee Trundle either when he looked a great player a few years ago. Dean Windass should have been signed up by a decent club long before he actually did as well - some players seem to struggle to get a good move even though they deserve one.
  18. Midfielder as I recall.
  19. You are correct. Ricky also holds the world record for standing ramrod straight and shouting loudly at players. This guy has actually never sat down in his life and is physically sick when he sees a chair, sofa or any other kind of luxury furniture. I'm lucky enough to know Ricky personally and can say without reservation that his ambition is second to none. His plan is to make us global champions of the world within 2 weeks and 5 days, if he fails he's told me that he will tear the skin from his body and burn it. I think we've got an exciting 2 weeks and 5 days ahead.
  20. Pard's knows this division like the back of his hand and can do a job up front. This guy scored in an FA Cup final and is better than what we have. He swims the english channel twice before coming to work so I know for a fact he keeps himself fit. We could do worse. Ricky Lambert would make an excellent manager. He regularly beats his team mates at chess which show his cerebral side and Alex Ferguson has his number on speed dial in case he needs advice. Ricky literally bleeds red and white and would jump several counties to become our manager. We could do worse.
  21. Jeez it's a big one and keeps biting!
  22. Ha ha, I went fishing and look what I caught! I thank you!
  23. I don't care about portsmouth - I didn't when we were in the prem and I don't now. They seemed to have a chip on their shoulder due to living in our shadow for so long and sadly it seems as if we're starting to develop one too. Portsmouth? What is there really to care about? Apart from geographically close (which is a poor excuse for dislike) there's nothing.
  24. No apology needed - it's interesting reading rumours even if they don't come off. I'd rather read them than absolutely nothing about transfers and that's what t'interweb is for isn't it?
  25. Strachan won't be DoF and wouldn't want it. He's already on the record as saying that the thing he enjoys the most is working with players and not the admin side of a managers job so why would he want a job that was almost entirely admin? I don't think it's fair on Pardew either. Whoever gets that role (and I'm not sure it's needed) should be mostly Pardew's choice, experienced, have good contacts and there to assist when needed. I'd have taken back WGS as manager but not in this role.
