  1. Perhaps we're going Barca style - totally fluid up front, no traditional center forward as a target man and Rickie also fits that roving role - but we have at least two who can do CF when necessary - if we do this we need solid back line (unlike Barca?) and the rest of the team to be intelligent players who can pass, play their team mates in, take advantage when they're played in, take the chance. IMHO this is the quality of player we're signing and the quality of player we're bringing through. In NC and NA I trust. COYS!!! I must admit I like the Davies ooption though, as it's also my name... :-)
  2. Meanwhile, on the subject of Saints centre-halves, if you're talking about class, i.e. the ability to defend and the ability to bring the ball forward, my vote is firmly for Mark Wright. But we're not in that division now and I would welcome a centre back eho could defend and play
  3. Soz. that was an answer to this. What is this new fangled interweb thingy anyway?
  4. Yes,you can, checked with HTAFC ticket office this morning...
  5. Great to see the start of a good off field partnership. Burley had Snodin (who is now at Leeds with Simon Grayson - that should get them into automatic promo places). When Snodin left, the rot accelerated. We now have Pardew and Wilkins. Great team, energise the players in the way these two can, we're finally on the way up. COYR!
  6. Correct. But only someone who goes to the games and watches what happens will uinderstand that.
  7. Live in Yorkshire (we are southerners always grates a bit, but I know it's a wind up), support Saints, Prutton's not good enough for Leeds and the fact is we have to be better than Leeds, and a few others, to get out of this division. So where does that leave Prutton, who can't get into Leeds first team? Give me Gillett and Lallana any day (based purely on watching matches in the ferret breeding cap flat wearing north of course).
  8. They can both play a role. Only those who don't actually WATCH games and see what happens could doubt that. The key is to ensure that their ability is integrated into the needs of the team. That's down to the players and the manager. That's what I hope will actually change. Subordination of individuals to the team ethic, always supposing that the team ethic can utilise and integrate the skils of individuals. That's the difference between good management and bad. Pardew can make that happen. And the ability to harness individual talent to a team ethic of hard work, concentration and sucess is what we've been missing. That's why our succesful managers have been succesful, and why our under performing managers have failed. We've had, AND HAVE, some great players. Lets support the manager in getting the best from everyone in a team we're proud to support, working as a team and utilising the undoubted talent we have both young and old (sorry, experienced). This is a hard league to get out of, but we can and will. COYR!
  9. It's not bad, reminds me of Leeds Rhinos though... Soz, wrong sport. I thought the mainly black with red of a couple of years was very good...as worn at Elland Road in the 3-0 win. But then again, 'Yellow Army' has a great ring to it, and is a great chant.
  10. Let's check it out with Nigel Pearson...? Oh...oops....
  11. Before anyone thinks this sort of thing can't happen, check out Halifax Town...or is that FC Halifax Town...once League 2, then Blue square, all of a sudden Unibond... But we'll be saved from that, won't we...please...
  12. But to put it in perspective, at the end of the game he came over and applauded us, and was applauded in return. As ever, a minority of ignorant people spoil our reputation for fairness.
  13. Yup, the same Doncaster Rovers who beat Leeds United to get to the Championship. Times change for all of us , it's about dealing with it, recognising what needs to be done, and moving on, onwards and upwards...
  14. Nail. Hit. The. Head. The. On. As Yoda would have said...
  15. No, I said 'could'... I didn't shout...
  16. I hear Sean Wright-Phillips has a step brother who could be useful?
  17. Spoke to a Blackpool fan recently (at a Rugby League game, eclectic or what?!!!) who thought Gillet was ok off the subs bench but nothing special. And now he's making an impression at Saints. DMG was being written off after loan periods at League 1 clubs. Some players show early promise and then need the right environment to develop fully. We might just provide that, and he'll wear our shirt. He has my support and best wishes. Good luck Anthony, and may you take your chance.
