Not aimed at you GitR but who would be seen as a Mane replacement i.e. names? As IMHO he is/was a bit unique so never going to be able to replace like for like.

Which is kind of my point SM. Some people seem to think we can offer the wages etc that some of the big clubs dish out - we cant, we never have and we never will. If we were to do it for even one player then the rest would expect the same and as we know that path will lead to financial ruin. As to 16/17 figures being more comparable - to a point yes as we are increasing our off field revenue/income but I doubt we will even be as high as spurs are for the 14/15 figures stated.

Thanks for that. Certainly shows the gap we are working with. We maybe able to catch a couple of the ones above but its doubtful given that villa have had a couple of poor seasons and West Ham have a new stadium that has cost them next to nothing.

Both have proved that they are not out of place at the international level. Fonte is our rick plus a great captain and has been for some years his marshalling of the defence is outstanding. Cedric will come good for us this season coming - by the sounds of things he is a natural fit for the way in which Puel likes to play.

If you think success is keeping us up all those years then he had both. Not suggesting that he shouldn't be on the banner by the way cos to me he is a true legend.
