The Lionesses success - Five footballing lessons for us?
Bad Wolf replied to eelpie's topic in The Saints
I think it's more the England men that could learn a lesson, specifically Southgate. THAT'S what you do when you go 1-0 up in a high stakes game, you be brave, take it to them and believe in yourself. Not cower away for the next 89 minutes showing every bit of mental weakness you can. What the women did to Sweden last night, there's no reason why the men couldn't have done that to Italy a year or so ago. -

There's been tons of that... -
Oh I think we've all had outsiders say that to us about Redmond.
-
Yeah, a lot of them haven't rated him for about two years or so. I was speaking to someone a month or so ago (non-Saints fan) and he claimed that Forster was the best keeper in the league and is sure to start for Spurs ahead of Lloris. Takes all sorts I suppose.
-
In fairness, they didn't state it as fact. Do we really have to put "IMO" after everything subjective? I think Kalvin Phillips is utter crap but I'd have phrased it the way these users did, I'd just take it as a given that people know that I'm well aware it's my opinion and one that's a minority.

Can he play CB? Actually, I always think he looks a bit like an Asian Richard Osman.
-
Wern't we second to West Ham last season for goals scored from set pieces?
-
Argh no thank you...
-
I'm one competent striker away from being VERY excited about this season.
-
Isn't that the case with any manager?
-
That would take our spending to 80 odd million without selling anyone. Can we now stop with the "This board are as tight as the last lot" and "We can't afford to sack Ralph" crap?
-
Those set ups keeping us up year after year...
-
You mean staying up and enjoying cup runs with Championship players?
-
I'd say at least 1 or 2 of them are going to start against Spurs, you know.
-
Do we think they'll be streams? I thought I read somewhere that Watford are broadcasting it for £5 but I can't even find that
-
That's the one I thought I meant but maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
-
The one that scores goals. Mind you, I didn't think the other Mousa Dembele was a bad player. Just not really built for the PL.
-
I'd take Ings back for £10 Million and not a penny more. For that price though, I'd rather sign Dembele.
-
If we sign Dembele, I will get a tattoo of his balls on my balls.
-
Yes, I've heard that. Apparently didn't consider him an upgrade on Smalling
-
I'm wondering if they've asked us to publicly announce it as a way of saying to anyone they owe money to "Look, we've got some money coming, give us a few days"
-
There's a heck of a difference between good enough for Forest and good enough for United.
-
This isn't aimed at you but we could have signed N'Bappe on a free and PSG pay us £1 Million per month to have him and then spend whatever we have spare finding the cure for cancer and our fans would still find something to moan about.
-
Yes of course, if you can then great but if you have the choice between spending £12 Million and being nice about it or acquiring that same asset for nothing but seeing a company fold, unfortunately, it has to be the latter. Like I said, obviously it hasn't worked (if it's true) but I don't harbour any ill feelings toward them for trying it.
