Doesn't always work like that. We were at home to Palace in 07-08 and finished the season at home to Sheff Utd. We also started our first season outside the top flight for 27 years at home to Wolves and finished at home to Leicester.

I'd quite like West Ham or Reading. To test ourselves against how far they've come. I'm gonna go for Everton at home or Swansea away. That's my gut feeling. What time to they come out tomorrow? 10?

I'd like to see this so that during the "Has he signed??, I've got strong ketchups that say..." saga leading up to it, the Echo would have the guts to print the headline "Dann's Syndrome". On a more serious note I wouldn't pay 6 million quid for him. Infact I wouldn't pay a lot more than 3 million. We're better off looking abroad if they won't sell for 3 million.

Quite right too. I can see why blind supporters don't pay the full amount after all, they can't see what's going on (which is a big part of the occasion). However they can hear (presumably) and still experience the great atmosphere so why should they get that for free? I think they should be allowed a discount as I've said but not free.

Spoke to the guy again today (who for some reason thinks that signing Connolly would be 'getting one over on us') and he says he has a contact who's been very reliable in the past. I then went on to speak to another Saints fan at work and apparently he guaranteed Surman and Lallana would be signing for them in the year we went into League One....It's B.S I think. Sorry everyone, you can probably go ahead and lock this now, mods.

Ummm...Like what? I started one in January about some Arsenal defender that was meant to be coming on loan which didn't happen but I saw it on a Newspaper link so thought I'd post it. Other than that, it's been virtually years since I've started a tread on any transfer speculation. So I don't think "notorious" would be the word...

IF KELVIN IS DEPRIVED OF HIS TOP FLIGHT CHANCE?!?! IF!??! This shouldn't even be on our minds. That man had the chance of the top flight when we were going under but turned it down because he wanted to have a crack at it with us. He's been our most consistent player for 5 years. I don't care who we get in, we could get in the best goalkeeper in the world for all I care (and because I don't particularly follow the foreign game, I don't really know who that is) Kelvin would STILL be our number one. He deserves this more than any other player from any of the three sides promoted and we don't even know who one side is yet.

The flat I used to live in was owned by an Indian family who owned the local curry house. We used to go down there a few times a month (always got one a month on the house) and one time I walked in and he was in there. Had a great long chat with him over a pint, was a lovely guy, was saying how much he loves the area. Got talking to my landlord about this a few days later and he said that Radhi often comes in there for a curry and a pint and that one time there was a fight breaking out there and Rahdi took one of the lads to one side, had a drink with him and calmed him down by just chatting to him about football. Top bloke all round.

It's always bothered me that they think their defeat to West Brom had ANY hand in us going down. It ended up having no influence on us. Infact, if I remember rightly Palace's point on that day meant they'd have stayed up had Pompey won. So they've actually ended up screwing Palace. I remember thinking at the time that if I was a Palace fan I'd be SO ****ed off at them for that. But they didn't seem to mind...
