  1. Me too thats why I have put a curse on them and had a bet :-)
  2. I have seen this lad play and boy is he good - I left raving about him he is absolute quality.
  3. Oi mush don't diss us Redbridge boys you Millbrook lot always ran from Beech, Bartlett and Batty! I have been out of work for 2 weeks since 1975 and worked for 3 of the biggest companies in the world! Been at the 2nd largest IT company now over 10 years so you are wrong....again.
  4. We did and he did it for free......I give you one Mr Ricky Lambert and he is A list!!! I will also add Frannie did it as well for our Sunday side but there was a link with the club. There is a big difference though isn't there between hiring a celebrity and having one of your ex players hosting at a match. From what you all say though £500 does seem on the small side then.
  5. Thats 2 of us then totally out of touch....not exactly a top drawer is he...funnily enough he is more of a legend since he has retired than when he put in numerous crap performances and got boo'ed by the East Stand lot. £500 for a couple of hours work! Le Tiss , Big Ron, Terry Paine maybe but cripes he was a less than average full back.
  6. Have had 5....had loads of issues with my knees they now get you up and walking same day. Was able to drive after 2 weeks and normally advice is if you can do an emergency stop then you can drive. As said above listen to your physio and do the excercises given - try building up leg muscles first try straight leg lifts. Step ups are good as well. Good luck
  7. His substitutions today were spot on and bringin on JWP to nullify Kolarovs runs was great to see. He or one of his team clearly have a good tactical brain.
  8. Right in front of me and he was nowhere near the ball when he hit Jay - stonewall
  9. Where do you think any money they get will go? Leasing the ground? Who will they lease the ground from? Wanna bet the leasing fee adds up to nearly 12m?
  10. Just a shame his last business venture didnt show the same scruples then.
  11. A quick warm up drill get them to stand opposite each other 5 yards to start with - progression is to 10 yards. One side starts with the ball each and passes to the lad opposite (who remain stationary) and then moves right and receives the pass back from the lad who was facing the lad next to him - the end player runs round and starts again - make them wait until the player is opposite. Poor control, underhit or overhit breaks it all down, gets them passing moving, head up, calling and waiting until a player is in position. Swap over after 2 complete rotations. Very simple but effective.
  12. Vince its all about short sided games, get the lads to have as many touches of the ball as you can. One drill I still do even at u16 is to split them into teams of 3 number each team, half a pitch, small goals, line up half way on each side of the pitch and call out the number(s) , each team has 2 attackers 1 defender - attackers go up to the half way and round a cone , defenders go the cone nearest goal and defend and play against each other. Lads enjoy the competition, improves both tackling, defensive awareness and attackers passing to each other.
  13. My lad is 15 and did this in the Summer, is he in Southampton? If so he is very lucky as there is fantastic support for the young refs from Albert, Ian and the mentors. My lad has been lucky enough to ref some academy games at Staplewood. Its very daunting for the lads at the start and they need a bit of support from dad but they soon learn and recommend it highly to you - if your lad is only 14 suggest you start off in mini soccer for a few weeks before doing some Tyro. There are some great teams as well as some right old numpties on the touchlines but your lad will be taken care of. Join him in the local ref association its great for them to see the older refs have same issues as them and learn how to deal with them - my lad has grown amazingly since doing it he is now very confident, outgoing and improved his personal skills. If you want any more advice or help just let me know. You may also have to think about the kit as that another £90 :-) but he will soon earn that back.
  14. Its even better than that :-) We have 24 points now!
  15. If Ramirez scores the goal that keeps us up and we then get the additional money from TV will that mean he is worth the 12m? Its not the players fault what the agents dictate...have a read of this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2271803/David-Sullivan-bullying-threats-violence-agent-demands-transfer-window.html#ixzz2JfTE5wDc Thats why I dont think its worth getting too uptight about the cost - one goal can change that...Forte is an example one game more than paid for his 4 year contract.
  16. £7m buys you a lot of CC players or keep what you have.
  17. 4 points off 13th....have a look at the fixtures next week - if we get a result against City its changes again. To coin a Nige....don't get too high after a win don't get too low after a defeat...today feels like one admittedly but todays errors are easily fixed. Boruc should now take responsibilty and organise his defence to give him extra cover at set pieces.
  18. DD spent all season slagging of Adkins then went into hypocrite overdrive when he was sacked "now we are going down" - oh for the days under JP and Wotte and we are staying up!! 13 games to go 4 wins and 3 draws but it will be touch and go and we have to hold our nerve. Disappointing to concede from 2 set pieces and next game we need to start with 11 players not 10 and 1 luxury.
  19. Wigan corner 16 secs later we score our second...your point being??? The problem today was the lack of defenders on posts...thats schoolboy defending!!
  20. Used to be 63Saint and posted boring match reports from Ressie and youth games. Been on UI for many years back when Dot, Ladysaint, Tonesus, Moschops etc posted now its just Stu winding up people and them biting. Full of weird stalkers now
  21. I will add Fulham away to that...bizarre tactics for 25 minutes. We were well on top and everyone around me was also calling for another attacker yet waited until 79 minutes...we got a fortunate penalty on 85! We should of gone for the jugular from 60 minutes as Fulham were appalling apart from Berbatov.
  22. Last time we were in the Prem there were cameras on the bridge by the Alfred and they were interviews by the Baggie fan whose name escapes me used to do MOTD
  23. I was the same as you....booked a taster cruise in January 3 nights to Amsterdam on the Azura....the wife got the norovirus first morning and was confined to the cabin for the rest of the cruise. I was allowed to go where I wanted but not much fun on your own. I used the buffet type restaurants and they are as you descibed ...just an eat as much as you like stuff your face type. Food was Ok though and lots of choice. I will never book another one as P&O were absolute sh1te with her. If you do book one take plenty of Imodium. If you book any other holiday you can at least walk around when better, sit on a beach on your own etc but on a cruise you become a prisoner in a cabin she was not allowed up on deck late at night etc.
  24. MLT was on Talksport with Alan Brazil this morning spoke highly of the fans and team and only disparaging remarks were about the lack of Adkins name in the programme which anyone with any common decency would accept is abysmal.
  25. There was a bloke in the Kingsland toilets at half tme singing that had us all in stitches....he was well gone
