  1. You mean illiterates.
  2. After nearly 20 years of resisting it, I now find myself using it accidentally. Every time it happens an angel loses its wings and kills a small part of me.
  3. I remember being 13......I had to do EVERYTHING with an erection.
  4. "I dont think the clothes have anything to do with it, luv.
  5. Mmm. Exotic rodents. Now I feel peckish.
  6. He looks like a fat guy with bumps
  7. Been thinking about this topic more. You know what? If I knew then what I know now, I would not change the time my heart was broken by the girl I still wonder about even now. It wasn't an error, it was a lesson. I don't regret being married to a witch for 23 years, it consolidated the bond between my daughter and myself, who was much more aware of the situation than I was......Anything I remember about my past ends with a positive that you just can't see at the time. I think if you were able to go back in time and correct all the 'mistakes' you would make your life the blandest of potato salads
  8. How much does Sky cost? Googled it. From 22 quid a monthe!!!!
  9. Oddly, My brother had, I thought, all the breaks I felt I never had as a second child. He went to Uni and became a dentist. money was shorter after that so I left school and got an apprenticeship. He was a dentist who started work at the same practice that he is now a partner of and still works there. I was a carpenter who went from job to job and also moved around to different countries to live. A couple of years ago, I mentioned to my daughter that I had always been a bit jealous of my brother's life, long holidays in Spain, security and respect.....She almost fell out ofe her chair! She was in touch with one of his daughters and told me that he had always been jealous of ME for travelling around, doing whatever I wanted and always landing on better ground! So obviously, the grass is always greener, and maybe that should be taken into account before we get into that time machine and try to upgrade our lives. In retrospect, I don't think I want to be a dentist after all.
  10. I agree, kinda. I've found though that too many people get successful by unmerited confidence over substance. I truly respect a person that is confident because they can actually back it up. Unless, of course you were just talking about confidence with girls, that would be an altogether different book.
  11. I suspect that a part of the reason that other UK stations do not have a more obvious US-style bias is because of the existence of the BBC's almost centre good standing. Here in the US, most people already know their bias, and select a news channel that represents it. Idiots like my mother in law will choose one, Fox News, and listen to no other. Others will choose one and occasionally visit a rival to test the waters. Some even turn to the BBC to act as an umpire. Yeah, the BBC has a slight left bias, but that standard never changes as it does with other stations, people trust it and know what they are getting. For any independent UK station to become too biased in either direction would sound too many bells with the public, based on what they are accustomed to hearing. The BBS is a stabalising influence. I often watch CNN out of habit as it used to do a pretty good job of being fairly unbiased, but now it is left wing alsmost as much is Fox is right wing. I just don't think that a shift like that is too likely in the UK as long as you have the BBC showing the way.
  12. This. Plus, hell, I like him even more now!
  13. As said above.
  14. Wearing odd socks brings humour, diversity and life into situations you were not expecting. I never wanted to say it right after the OP, but wearing the same socks every single day? You've never lived until you've crapped your pants.
  15. Before she becomes unf**kable
  16. You can't keep a dead hooker under your bed more than 3 days.
  17. I dunno about the rights and wrongs of the licences fee, but any changes must be made with the utmost care. The BBC is a massive asset to the country. Britain's influence, image and respect in the world has been declining for decades. The BBC has been helping slow that decline. So many people in the world use theBBC to get a better, less biased take on their own news. Change it if need be, but never undermine it's ability to survive. It's just too valuable
  18. Doing a good job gets you satisfaction, being a gobby w##ker gets you promotion.
  19. A pedant, you mean a pedant never sleeps . Lucky I was awake to catch that!
  20. I used to get annoyed at the abuse of the word literally. Now I'm more annoyed at the OED for caving ind and acknowledging it so that it literally can now mean figuratively. On the plus side, I can now literally fly over their building and crap in their tea.

  24. My new cordless mower. I never thought anything as mundane as a mower could bring me more joy than the birth of my daughter or leaving my first wife.
  25. I'd rather my neighbour had a small dog that yaps than a huge one that craps. Edit: also spellcheckers that think I cant spell, hence this edit
