  3. I have been thinking about doing this, have normal Sky+ with no HD channels. As i know little about this subject does anyone know if my standard sky satellite dish can receive HD channels? Do sky have to change your dish etc or can any dish pick up HD channels? If my dish can then i can ditch Sky and get the Humax.
  4. Good work, wait until you get to league 1, tiny tiny budget of 18k a week! I started the season wiuth 10 straight defeats but i have turned it round and managed to stay up by 3 points! New stadium is on its way so hopefully my budget will improve so i can attack the playoffs next year. Who did you sign in your first season??
  5. No what does being wound up by mates mean?
  6. Not saying its correct was just chucking it out there As far as i was aware both Jos and Lee are free transfers\undislosed and so the salaries would fit into any structure already budgeted for? Hopefully the Billy Sharp deal will go through and blow this theory out the water though :-)
  7. Anyone else heard the rumour that we wont be making any cash signings this window as the club is actually being touted around Europe for sale by Cortese? Heard from someone at work who has close family ties with some of the players (i know sounds dodgy and i dont really believe it myself) Apparantly the only signings we will make are frees or loans this windows as Cortese doesnt want to commit to spending big amounts whilst finding a new owner. I assume its all rubbish but thought i would put it out there, hopefully i will be proved wrong when we buy Hooper and Sharp!
  8. 10 games into the season and 10 defeats! So i went to the board and asked for more money. They said no, so i threatened to quit and i now have a mighty 19.5k a week. Sold my entire midfield and signed 4 new players, inlcuding Ross wallace who has turned my team around. Now played 18 games and I have 12 points, only 5 points behind the team above the relegation zone. Also in the FA Cup 3rd round and JPT Semi Finals, so hopefully i can stay up. Im going to stick with it as even if i get relegated as the new stadium should give me enough to get promotion again and then stay up. Im just hoping i can stay up really, if i can make it to January and only be 5 points behind im sure i can move on some players and bring in some quality One thing i have noticed is a lot of quality players stay without clubs after being released, even in January. Rickie Lambert is avalible on a free as he was dumped by southampton and has been without a club now for 5 months! Might make a cheeky bid for him!
  9. Feel your pain Crab Lungs, i have got Eastleigh into League 1 now with 3 successive promotions. However i have a weekly wage budget of 15k! I can basically only afford 15 players on 1k a week. Im currently 22nd after 5 games with 1 point! Its going to be a long season which i think will end in relegation. Maybe next season with the 10,000 seater Eastleigh Stadium finished i can bounce back into league 1 and get a bigger budget. I was thinking about a Darlington game, huge stadium so a lot of potential!
  10. Crashes are machine specific and to be honest i have had no problems with either Steam or FM2012 To expect them to test for every machine type and build is not realistic, i would suggest that maybe there is an issue somewhere with your machine if its constantly crashing when playing. Thats the nature of PC hardware, its custom, so you can have any number of configurations. Its not like designing a game for XBOX or PS3 where the hardware is constant. I would try a rebuild of the machine back to bare OS and see if that improves and go forward from there, you could have any number of software or hardware conflicts that are stopping Steam or FM2012 running correctly. Its frustrating when these things happen but to just blame the software shows a lack of knowledge in this area.
  11. Managed to get Eastleigh into League 2 with back to back promotions. New 5,500 seater Eastleigh Stadium on its way but have a stupid 10k a week budget so cannot attract anyone decent. Contract talks with Adam LeFondre and Aaron Martin broke down as i couldnt stretch the extra £100 a week they wanted! Currently 15th in League 2 with 26 games played so hoping i can stay up and then my budget will be increased with the new stadium. Highlights so far, winning the BSS and BSC, runners up in the FA Trophy and just drawn Man City at home in the 3rd round of the FA Cup! Loving that Nasri and Co are visiting the Silverlake Stadium! Also just turned down the QPR job, they were 19th in the prem and they offered me a 45 million pound budget but my goal is to take Eastleigh all the way to the prem. Saints are still in the championship, finished 15th, 13th and they are currently 19th. Cant help but think Nigel and the squad are seriously under rated by the game?? Nigel always gets sacked in every game i have played??
  12. If you havent been to seville, i recommend you make the effort amazing city, loved it when i went there. Loads to see and do :0)
  13. Need to know a location and what night really. If it was a monday night then I know i could enter a team. Can you let me know when and where the league will be?
  14. There is no "rule of thumb" the only way to find out is to look at your deeds.
  15. To$$er
  16. *****!
  17. Totally agree, so many people go to games not having played or any idea about skill etc. He pops up with goals and links up the play and that is price less in a team. Hes a player that can make something out of nothing and thats a good thing. His work rate might be a bit questionable but we need players of all types to make a balanced team. His role isnt to run about and win the ball back, hes a link man and he does that job well. Still drop him as we are under-performing in the league and he is holding us back!
  18. My wife was in the same situation, union rep and senior teachers trying to give her a hard time but she stood her ground and with couple of teachers who where also against the strike they went to see the head. They are not striking and so out of 15/20 classes around 5 are in tomorrow. You just need to stand your ground as hard as that may be. She needs to approach the head and inform her of her right not to strike. People have a right not to strike just as much as chosing to strike. Why should she lose a days pay and do something she doesnt agree with just because of peer presure by the older generation who are more affected by these changes. As much as i dont agree with they way the government are going about changing pensions, i think things need to change as its not affordable. Like i said in a previous post, changes should be made to NQTs contracts coming into the system and say new teachers within the first 5 years of a career rather than wholesale changes which do affect people very close to retirement.
  19. You are the man for sweeping generalisations?!
  20. What would you call a lower to mid pay public sector worker? My wife is on what i would consider a mid pay level and she will not be better off each month. She will also have to work until 68, if she doesnt then she will take a lower pension and therefore not be better off. Even if she does work to 68 she will be paying more a month to get a lower overall pension, not sure thats better off? Just wondered where you got your information from to make such a sweeping statement?
  21. My wife is also a teacher and isnt going on strike as she doesnt believe affecting a child’s education is the way to resolve the situation. However the government is being underhand as its forcing people to work to 68 to get a full pension, knowing full well that most people will not want to or be able to handle a class of 30-35 children at that age. This will then cause them to take early retirement and therefore they will not be entitled to a full pension which they are being asked to pay more for as well. Whatever people say about public\private pensions, you would also not be happy if a scheme you were paying into suddenly increased the payout age and asked you to pay 3% more a month to get less at the end. I don’t think for a minute that the country can keep on heavily subsidising the public pensions that exist today but there must be a fairer way to make changes. How about making radical changes to new teachers\employees to make that more cost effective, in the long run this would reduce the overall bill.
  22. Totally agree with this and that was my point really. If anything i feel they need to actually allow you to turn off some features of the game that your not interested in.
  23. Thats my point though, why would i want to allocate it to a Assistant manager as they are usually crap at it. The old games it was all hidden so you didnt really realise but when you allocate team talks to the assistant manager and he is useless at them you know you need to do them yourself. Im a massive Footy Manager fan but each year i find myself less and less interested in the new features. Also i hate the fact you can play the game for a whole afternoon and only get 8 or 9 games done, the old versions you used to be able to get a season done in an afternoon.
  24. Im with you 2 on this, i find its to in depth now. All i want to do is pick the team and tactics and do all the transfer stuff. I dont care about training and spending ages picking through all the team talk stuff. I have the new version but i havent played it yet as its just to in depth and i dont see the point of allowing a assistant manager do all the work, especially in the lower leagues as they are rubbish at it. Bring back the footy manager of a few years ago i say!
  25. Fantastic thread and one of the reasons why I love and then also hate this forum! Thanks for making my Friday everyone!
