Interesting comments from davec. I hadn't heard anything about the Cork rumour, and can only hope it's not true. We really need to hang onto him as he's an essential part of our first team. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if Bolton did come in for him. There were rumours in the summer that they were tracking him so this would come as no surprise.

What console do you have? On a PS3, squad numbers are automatically assigned and for some reason, every player seeks the number 2 shirt! Becomes very annoying after a while and EA could do with sorting it.
-
Sorry, let me try and be a bit clearer! During a manager mode, when you sign new players they are automatically assigned squad numbers. I had heard that there might be a patch made available for download which allows YOU to select their squad numbers. Was just wondering if anyone had heard any more about it at all? Aplogies for the confusion!

Anyone know if there will be a patch available to download enabling you to select squad numbers in manager mode? Also, I take it there will be an updated squad list to download after the January transfer window has been and gone? Cheers in advance!

Joe Jordan was, once again, in attendance at St Mary's today, as was Simon Hunt of Ipswich. I have it on good authority that they (Spurs) are tracking the progress of Lallana and are considering a January bid. Whether he leaves or not is another thing, but AL is more than happy at Saints and has no desire to leave. Also worth mentioning that my source has reiterated that Skacel's move to Ipswich is set to go ahead come January. Maybe losing someone such as Rudi will give us enough resources to fend off interest in Lallana/Surman until the end of the season?

Lallana seems a bit tired to me and would benefit from a rest IMO. However, with the busy Christmas schedule coming up, that's very unlikely. If his form were to dip at all, maybe it's best that it happens over December/January? On a side note, good to see Lallana committing his future to Saints in the matchday programme, saying he's more than happy to be here. If he does go then we know where to point the finger!

Shame we couldn't hang on but not too down-hearted. We had enough chances to kill the game off at 1-0 but it wasn't to be. I think it's very much a mental thing now, the sooner we can get a win at St Mary's the better. Still, if we can come away with something on Monday night then things won't look too bad at all. Onwards and upwards!

Wouldn't be a bad move for Strachan IMO. He's pretty much taken Celtic as far as possible and Sunderland are a decent club. WGS would no doubt be given funds to strengthen should he take charge and he's the kind of motivational man they need right now. If it did happen you can bet we'd get them in the 4th round of the FA Cup.

I know for a fact that Lallana, Surman and even Schneiderlin are more than happy at Saints. None of them are wanting to leave but obviously, if some club comes in with a massive offer then we'd have to consider it. At least we won't have a repeat of the Kenwyne saga, and it's good to know that our players are totally committed to the cause.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/3952070.Saints_top_of_the_shots___but_not_of_the_goals/ Interesting stat. Hopefully we can start to convert some of these chances and pick up some more points.

Just a quick question . . . Do I have until the 10th of December to book my season ticket seats for the United game? Apologies for the stupid question! Just a mate is making me a tad concerned that I might miss out.

I bring you back to what you typed earlier. For Southampton Football Club to unite and move forward, we need outside investment, a new board, a new start and a new era.
-
Yeh but maybe with our current financial situation we could extend until the end of the season with the option to buy then? Would save us paying a fee for the time being anyway. Also depends on whether Sheff Utd want to keep Dyer.

All this is making for very interesting listening. It would be brilliant if Rupert rung up to fight his corner.
-
Agreed. They said it was a FORMER board member. If it is Crouch then it would make for good timing after his recent outbursts.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/3948111.Poortvliet_keen_to_keep_loan_stars/ Good news. If we could extend Cork, Pearce and Robertson's deals then that would be brilliant. As for Smith and Pekhart, I'm not too fussed either way.
-
A fully fit and hungry Skacel would probably get in the side. Schneiderlin would be knocking on the door and Lallana might make the bench. Other than that, it's as you were I'd say.

What are the odds we beat United and follow it up with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Barnsley?
-
4 more from me too! This game will most definitely be a sell-out. United are likely to fill their allocation to IMO. All makes for a cracking day! Bring it on.
-
'FLINT! FLINT! Barmy Army!' is also a good alternative.
-
Woo hoo! Should be a full house for this one surely? Will be a massive test for the youngsters. BRING EM ON!

A draw was a fair result. Charlton dominated the first half and but for Kelvin we could have been 2 or 3 down. Second half we came out and looked a completely different side. Charlton fans and players alike started to get nervy as the game came to a close and I wouldn't have been surprised had we nicked it right at the death Still, a point is a decent result and hopefully we can build on this in our next game.

A number of players even have accounts on here!
