  1. Neither of them can tackle. Is this a problem? Against Reading it never really held us back, but tonight I would have said it did. On the other hand, I don't really want Wotton on the team.
  2. Didn't really do anything tonight. If it helps, I saw him in the reserves a week ago and he looked a bit creative, without ever really making a shooting opportunity. A fairly good passer, but generally nothing special.
  3. 2 hours of my life I'll never get back... Just goes to show, nice passing means jack if it's not going anywhere and you've got to duds up front. Davis - 6 Can't really say he had a save to make. Dropped it a couple of times. James - 6 Reliable enough, but offered little going forward. Wasn't really challenged much. Cork - 7 Solid I thought, but nearly gave a goal away attempting ballett in the penalty area. Perry - 8 MOTM Good reading of the game again. Bailed us out of trouble on a few occasions. 2 great last ditch tackles. Skacel - 7 Reliable enough. I think our best spells in both halves came when he pushed forwards into the midfield. One good saving tackle. Tired badly towards the end though. Lallana - 7 Full of ideas and running, but not really up to much when it came to the final ball. Surman - 6 Just didn't influence the game enough for me. Is a jellyfish in the tackle. Good passing, should have shot a few times and didn't. Schneiderlin - 6 Big lad but nowhere near physical enough. A few times Plymouth broke and were allowed to run at the defence because this guy needs to grow some balls. Good passing though. BWP - 7 Looked good running at the defence. Was great first half, a real carry-on from his Reading performance. Seemed to fade second half, like a couple of others, but still looked one of the more likely candidates. Robertson - 3 Looked like a giraffe on crack. DMG - 4 When he came off, we really missed his through-balls to nobody on the penalty spot. Subs: Patterson - 5 Worked hard, forgettable Gasmo - 5 Little time, no impact.
  4. I'm going to allow that one because it was quite funny.
  5. What, so you're not even going to bother renting a car to get to the game? Plastic fan!
  6. For the first time this season I can say, there is nothing I would change about the team that played the last match. I'm going for a scrappy 0-0 and spending the rest of the night defrosting my b*llocks on a hot water bottle.
  7. Just posting these before I leave, so we don't end up with no match threads because all the admins are at the game.
  8. Well, wasn't that brilliant/good/average/disappointing/soul destroying. *Please keep posting until after the match.
  9. On here please.
  10. On here please.
  11. So he's going to be pretty forgetable for the first 3 months, then put in one excellent performance?
  12. I acknowledge that this is just the theory, and the wage bill would have been higher until the likes of Rasiak and Saga left at the end of summer. Correct me if I am wrong, but Rasiak is on a season long loan. So we will have saved a year's wages (minus a couple of months in summer), even if the dates don't match up with the financial year. I wouldn't be surprised if Dyer, John and Saga's loans were extended too, or in Dyer's case sent else where because the Blades have figured him out as a one trick pony who can't cross.
  13. If nobody comes to rescue it, people might have to go back to calling each other a c*nt in real life.:-({|=
  14. I doubt it was greater than 25%.
  15. Okay, I'll take your word for it. I thought being a selfish, greedy, self-promoting, egotistical idiot was pretty much the norm for F1 bosses.
  16. You're probably right. Sod's law always overrules the laws of mathematics.
  17. Well, if we take the wages of those players as: II - £12k Powell - £10k Ostlund - £5k John - £10k Saga -£10k Rasiak - £12k Dyer - £2k Davies - £10k J. Wright - £5k Vignal - £10k Makin - £5k Hammill - £5k Safri - £7k Lundekvam - £15k Viafara - £10k Licka - £4k Rondos/Ranger/Baseya - £2k each, £6k total That adds up to £138kpw, which is £7.2m saved over a year. Then there's the other short term loans. Dailly was apparently on £20k a week for what, 2 months? That's another, £120k on it's own. Also Ifil, Mettomo, Pericard, R. Wright and Lucketti. I'd say when you add on the much lower wages of the players we've signed, it probably still comes out £6.5m - £7m a year lower. We've also saved a bit from closing the corners, scrapping the bus vouchers and effectively doubling the cost of a replica shirt.
  18. Yeah, you can add to that: J. Wright Vignal Makin Hammill Safri Lundekvam Viafara None of which came cheap, all shaved from the wage bill. Then there's also Licka, Baseya, Ranger, Mettomo and Rhondos who probably were cheap. Not forgetting some short term loans who we had during the last financial year at different times: Pericard, Lucketti, O' Halloran, Ifil, Dailly and Wright, the last 2 probably on very high wages. All in all, I'd say we've knocked a good £7m or so off the wage bill, even with the replacements.
  19. Robert Mugabe and Dean.
  20. Have a feeling it's going to be a s**t 0-0.
  21. Fair enough. I saw the documentary on their 1998 season, when they got their first win, and a 1-2 in Spa. Admired them for continuing to compete against teams with much larger budgets and even pushing for the title in '99. I wasn't aware of the £25m, I thought they just ran out of funding and were bought out by MF1. Why did he sh*t on the employees, were they not retained by Midland?
  22. ... was on the pitch when John scored 14 of his 19 goals and scored a crucial goal against the Blades which kept us up? No? Okay, witch hunt it is then.
  23. No, we just wont sell him.
  24. Sorry, but what has MS done to triple his value since summer? If we were to sell him now, I reckon we'd get £1.5m for him. I suspect the Arsenal rumour was just put about by Lowe to make it sounds like we've got lots of exciting young players in the team that Prem clubs all want. £3m? No. £5m? I'll have a pint of what you're on please.
  25. Yes, ignoring certain parts of a statement so that the whole point goes way over your head is always good for a laugh. Reading were unbeatten at home and were always going to come out and try and play it. They were complacent and we took full advantage. Plymouth aren't going to be like that. After seeing our performance and being away from home, they're going to set up to be hard to beat. We wont get anywhere near as much space to play as we were allowed at the Mad Stad. I'm not saying we can't win tomorrow, just that it's going to be a different game and we wont be able to play our way through them like we did on Saturday.
